The Scottish Psychopath competed in a fatal four-way match at the PLE!
In the first match of Backlash 2025, Jacob Fatu defended the United States Championship in a fatal four-way match against LA Knight, Damain Priest, and Drew McIntyre. The Scottish Psychopath was looking to win the U.S. title to become the Grand Slam Champion, he was looking to capture the only title that had eluded him on his path to becoming a Grand Slam Champion in the WWE.
As expected, the WrestleMania 41 animosity was still in the air as Knight and Fatu collided while Priest and McIntyre battled ringside to start the match. McIntyre defeated Priest in a Sin City street fight at WrestleMania 41.
The four stars delivered an amazing match to start the PLE, however, chaos broke out as Priest once again shattered McIntyre’s dream as he pulled the referee out of the ring to break the cover. This angers McIntyre, who goes after Priest and the two stars brawling through the crowd stands, which ends in Priest landing the South of Heaven Chokeslam from the production crate through a table.
The chaos signaled that the feud between McIntyre and Priest is far from over, and the bad blood will likely culminate in another epic match on either of the two upcoming WWE events: Saturday Night’s Main Event or Money in the Bank PLE.
Drew McIntyre is currently receiving medical attention
Jacob Fatu retained the title at Backlash in what effectively became a singles match against LA Knight, with a little help from Solo Sikoa and a debuting Jeff Cobb, Fatu managed to rally and land the moonsault to pick up the win in the fatal four-way match.
Following the show, a report emerged of McIntyre receiving medical attention backstage, which led many fans to believe that the segment on the production crate caused the injury.
According to PWInsider, the injury occurred during a spot outside the ring involving Priest’s South of Heaven chokeslam, where McIntyre’s head missed the table and hit the floor hard instead.
There isn’t any additional update regarding the severity of the injury, We will provide an update once further details are revealed. Fans are hoping that McIntyre is healthy and is able to continue his feud with Damian Priest.
