Is Dustin Rhodes coming to WWE after AEW contract expires?

Dustin Rhodes is one of the active & longest-tenured tenured pro-wrestler in the industry!
Dustin Rhodes is one of the veteran professional wrestlers who has been in the industry since 1988. He is the elder son of Dusty Rhodes and the half-brother of Cody Rhodes. Dustin has a long history with WWE under the name Goldust but was released from the company in 2019. He has currently a major star in AEW for over five years and who delivered some of the best matches for the company.
The 55-year-old is in his prime, however, his AEW contract is nearing to end in the upcoming months. At this stage, Dustin addressed his AEW status and hinted at a potential WWE return.
Dustin Rhodes confirms AEW contract expiry
A fan on X (formerly Twitter) wrote that Dustin Rhodes is expected to leave AEW when his contract expires in September 2024. The fan speculated that Dustin after his contract expires would step down from in-ring competition and focus on his wrestling school.
To which Dustin Rhodes replied denying it as a false statement. Dustin agreed that his contract with AEW is coming to an end by September, but said that he is still not done with his in-ring career. He wishes to retire on his terms and hopes to have his contract negotiation go well.
Dustin Rhodes wrote,
“Wrong! Jeeze guys, do better. Yes my contract is up in September, and No, I am absolutely NOT DONE. Having the best matches of my life and hopefully, God willing I will get to retire on my own terms, respected with a full heart. Hopefully Negotiations go well because I am damn worth the world.
The only things that matter to me are: taking care of my family first and foremost, and finishing up when I am ready, and how I envision my retirement.
So hold off guys, This biz is my life and I love doing it for you, while still having fun and able. #KeepSteppin and thank you all for your continued love and support!”
Dustin Rhodes hints WWE return
Another fan said that Dustin deserves a match at Wembley Stadium and winning the ROH Championship. He wanted to see Dustin in WWE and have a match with Cody Rhodes.
To which Dustin replied saying, “You never know 😉” potentially hinting that there is a possibility.
Another fan wrote saying that WWE doesn’t need Dustin, referencing his age. To which Rhodes said that nobody is better at his age.
Rhodes wrote, “Glad you feel that way as you are following me. Nobody is better at my age.”
