Jacob Fatu will battle Roman Reigns in a rematch.
‘The Samoan Werewolf’ Jacob Fatu has punched his way into a World Heavyweight title rematch against Roman Reigns at the upcoming Clash in Italy PLE. The rematch came following Fatu’s loss in their first meeting at Backlash 2026 and the relentless attacks afterwards.
However, ahead of the PLE this Sunday, a report from PWInsider has worried fans about the status of Fatu as he is set to partake in the Tribal Combat match, and an injury might spoil the main event in Italy.
Jacob Fatu was seen limping after the WWE event in Liverpool

According to the report by PWInsider, Jacob Fatu was seen limping after last night’s WWE Live Event in Liverpool, England, after his match against Solo Sikoa.
Fatu battled Sikoa in a street fight at the first live event that kicked off the European Tour on May 28. Fatu defeated Sikoa to pick up the win. That said, Insider also added that they’ve not heard if Fatu was actually injured or just selling the injury.
“Jacob Fatu was seen limping last night after his bout with Solo Sikoa at the WWE live event in Liverpool. We have not yet heard whether he was just selling or not.”
Cory Hays of False Finish provided an update; according to him, Fatu is okay. “He’s okay,” Cory wrote on X in response to the injury news.
However, False Finish and Hays also provided an update, reporting that Fatu suffered a legitimate injury during the event. The injury is believed to be related to his back, although WWE sources told False Finish that the issue is not considered serious and that Fatu is expected to be okay.
Hayes added to the report, stating that WWE is working under the assumption that Fatu will be fine by Sunday, and in case he’s unable to compete, the promotion is looking into potential backup plans. Mike Johnson of PWIsinder has also confirmed this news.
The injury reports have thrown the Tribal Combat clash between Fatu and Roman for the World Heavyweight Championship and the title of the Tribal Chief into limbo, and fans are now waiting for an update on the situation.
WWE will close out the busy schedule for May with the Clash in Italy PLE. WWE’s first-ever Premium Live Event in Italy is set for Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Inalpi Arena in Turin.
A total of four title matches, along with a major WrestleMania 42 rematch between Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi, are set for the PLE. The rematch was announced after Lesnar returned, attacking Femi and challenging him to a rematch, which Femi accepted this past Monday on Raw.
Is Jacob Fatu really injured?
Yes, per Cory Hays of False Finish and PWInsider, Fatu is dealing with a back injury, but WWE is working under the assumption that Fatu will be fine by Sunday, and in case he’s unable to compete, the promotion is looking into potential backup plans.
When and where will Clash in Italy take place?
Inalpi Arena in Turin, Piedmont Region, Italy, will host the upcoming edition of the Clash in Italy PLE on May 31.
