Is Karrion Kross truly done with WWE or is it all work?

Karrion Kross and Scarlett have been released from WWE.

The future of Karrion Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux in WWE has been a hot topic for months, fueled by conflicting reports and speculation over their contracts. That speculation intensified after August 10, when their WWE contracts officially expired and both were moved to the alumni section of WWE’s official website.

Adding to the intrigue, Kross released a creatively produced YouTube documentary titled My WWE Contract Ends Today, which many initially thought might be part of a storyline.

However, paired with announcements about accepting outside bookings and promotional appearances, the evidence strongly suggests that this is a legitimate departure from the company rather than a carefully orchestrated work.

Unlike recent examples of storyline misdirection, such as the Seth Rollins injury angle, this situation has been too elaborate and too transparent to be fiction.

Keeping talent and staff in the dark about Kross’s status for the sake of a storyline would be risky and damaging to WWE’s internal trust, making a real release the far more logical conclusion. But the belief within WWE is that Karrion Kross will return to the company, accoridng to Wrestling Observer Radio.

Kross himself leaned into his fighting spirit in a social media post announcing his next moves. “Hey… life is fighting, right? Now accepting bookings: [email protected] See you all again soon. ⏳,” he wrote.

While the message signals a new chapter, it doesn’t entirely shut the door on a WWE return someday. Both Kross and Scarlett have brought a high level of creativity and presentation to their work, qualities that could always be in demand should circumstances align in the future.

Fans heavily supporting Karrion Kross

In the days following the announcement, both Kross and Scarlett expressed heartfelt appreciation for their time in WWE. Scarlett in particular praised the environment, calling it “the best locker room I’ve ever been part of,” and describing her colleagues as “family.” She thanked fans for their loyalty and stressed that they had never been “just a crowd” to her.

The couple’s respectful and grateful exit stands in contrast to some departures where talent publicly criticize WWE management. This approach, combined with a loyal fan base and strong in-ring presentation, positions them well to succeed in whichever promotion they join next.
