WWE is moving to Netflix from January 1
The Stamford-based promotion is gearing up for the debut of Monday Night Raw on the streaming platform Netflix. The highly anticipated show is scheduled for January 6th at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California.
In addition to regular programming, Netflix will become the exclusive home for all WWE shows, PLEs and specials outside the U.S. The WWE Network will shut down on January 1st, with all its exclusive content moving to Netflix.
Ahead of the debut episode and amidst many changes, fans are wondering if the Red Brand will be returning to its three-hour format. On the 12/27 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, the promotion announced that the Blue brand will transition to a three-hour format in 2025.
The Red brand is similarly expected to revert back to the three-hour format when it debuts on the streaming giant. In Monday’s Daily Update, Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer reported that a reliable source confirmed WWE RAW will return to a weekly three-hour format, starting with its premiere on Netflix on January 6, 2025.
The Red brand returned to a two-hour format on October 7th as part of a temporary media rights agreement with USA Network. This arrangement covered the gap between the expiration of the previous deal in September and the official start of their new deal with Netflix in January.
