Rhea Ripley is set to face Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42.
Rhea Ripley won the 2026 Women’s Elimination Chamber Match to punch her ticket to WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. Subsequently, she had to break up with IYO SKY and move over to SmackDown to feud with reigning WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill.
However, RHIYO reunited on SmackDown last week when Rhea Ripley fell victim to the numbers game at the hands of Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab.
During the April 6 episode of WWE RAW, Mami and the Genius of the SKY teamed up to beat Michin and B-Fab in a tag team match. However, Jade Cargill made IYO SKY pay for sticking her nose into her business. She gave her the beating of a lifetime in the aftermath, while a helpless Rhea Ripley was forced to watch the beatdown.
Latest update on Rhea Ripley’s hospitalisation
Just as Mami was gearing up for her WrestleMania 42 match, her husband and AEW star Buddy Matthews caused major concern among fans after sharing an Instagram story of his wife being hospitalised. Mami was seen lying on a hospital bed while flipping the bird at the camera.
Buddy Matthews captioned the photo as “wasted” and didn’t provide any further details as to why his wife was taken to the hospital.
Rhea Ripley took to her Instagram stories to show off a gnarly photo of a large gash on her body. She took a little detour to the ER and got a few stitches today. In the caption, she wrote: “Nice little detour to the emergency room for me today.”
With WWE being caught by the injury bug once again, fans have been wondering whether her WrestleMania 42 status is in serious jeopardy.

There’s no word yet on the nature of her injury or if she will be 100% ready for WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.
After what went down on RAW, Ripley took to her X/Twitter handle and admitted that she failed to protect her best friend. Mami said she would “die” before letting that happen again.
“I don’t want you to be my shield. That’s not what LOVE is. What happened yesterday should have NEVER happened. You protected me and I failed to protect you… I will die before I let that happen again,” she wrote.
It will be interesting to see if The Eradicator will make it to SmackDown in San Jose this Friday. Rhea Ripley isn’t the only one dealing with injury, as her frenemy, Liv Morgan, suffered a gruesome head injury and was placed under concussion protocol following a head collision with Roxanne Perez.
Liv Morgan is on the quest to dethrone Stephanie Vaquer as the WWE Women’s World Champion at the Show of Shows. Will Mami and Güerita walk out of WrestleMania 42 as the new champions? Only time will tell.
