Ricky Starks could be the next hottest AEW star to jump ship to WWE
Ricky Starks is one of the most highly talented professional wrestlers in the industry. Starks is well known for his time in AEW, who held the AEW World Tag Team Championship once and the FTW Championship once. The 34-year-old is a hell of a talent, who has good in-ring skills and microphone skills to deliver a good promo and a great match.
Starks is a huge fan of WWE and was seen backstage for WWE PLEs. The latest backstage reports reveal that Starks could be WWE-bound soon and here is what it says.
Is Ricky Starks coming to WWE?
Ricky Starks has not been seen on AEW TV for a while, since he lost the AEW Tag Team Championship in March 2024. Following that it was reported that Stark was seen backstage at WWE and was said that he could make his WWE debut very soon. To which San Ross Sapp of Fightful Select clarified that Starks was not backstage and the rumor was not true.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported, “Not that I heard. I haven’t heard that he’s been backstage or anything like that.”
On the other hand, Jason Solomon of HOG Wrestling confirmed that Ricky Starks’ contract with AEW expired in July and was a free agent.
Jason Solomon said, “As I just mentioned live on TNT, I’ve heard Ricky’s contract actually expired in July and he’s been a free agent. Or perhaps WAS a free agent.”
Following that Corey Brennan of Fightful Select reported that he has heard from the sources within NXT that there is a significant interest in bringing Starks to NXT when he is available.
Corey Brennan said, “Regarding the Ricky Starks rumors going around on social media, NXT sources say that there is significant interest in bringing Starks into the brand once he is available.”
Following the number of backstage reports and with NXT No Mercy on September 1, 2024, WWE fans believe that Starks could make his debut confronting Ethan Page on the show.
Jade Cargill on Ricky Starks leaving AEW for WWE
Jade Cargill who jumped ship from AEW to WWE in a recent interview was asked about the ongoing rumors about Ricky Stark’s potential WWE debut. To which Cargill said that she is happy for him and wishes him good luck wherever he steps in.
Cargill said, “We’re just like this [meshes her hands], we just collide, we have great ideas. We have great fashion tastes, we talk about everything under the sun. He’s in a good place right now. But I am on for whatever he’s on. He’s happy where he’s at right now, and I’m happy for him.”
