Yes, tonight’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown (December 20, 2024) is pre-taped. The promotion pre-taped the December 20, 2024 episode of the Blue brand immediately following the December 13th edition of SmackDown at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, U.S.A.
The Stamford-based promotion decided to pre-taped tonight’s show last week in Hartford due to the upcoming Christmas season. This will give talents free time to spend the holiday with their families.
What can fans expect from WWE SmackDown tonight?
Fans tuning in tonight can expect a packed show filled with key developments and thrilling matchups. The Blue brand’s show will feature a six-man tag match as well as a Women’s Tag Team tile match.
On this week’s episode, Kevin Owens will once again make a promo from his car, which has become a recent trend for him, resulting in yet another segment where he mocks Cody Rhodes.
The Bloodline will compete in a 6-man tag team match against LA Knight, Andrade, and Apollo Crews. This follows the chaos that erupted following Knight and Solo Sikoa’s singles battle last night, which Knight eventually won by disqualification due to Jacob Fatu’s involvement.

Drew McIntyre will also confront Solo Sikoa and his Bloodline on this week’s episode. Jimmy Uso will attack McIntyre with his crutches, this retaliation came after Drew attacked Jimmy on the 12/13 show.

Bianca Belair and Naomi will defend their Women’s Tag Team titles against the team of Nia Jax and Candice LeRae on this week’s episode.
