Ivar has been feuding for the NXT North American Championship
Ivar is one of the impressive WWE stars, who has been proving that a 300+ pounder could go extreme with the high flying moves. Ever since his tag team partner, Eric got injured, Ivar started to wrestle as a singles wrestler and has been delivering some creative and exceptional performances. His athleticism, high flying moves and innovative offenses have impressed a number of fans and officials within WWE.
The Viking recently made his return to WWE NXT and has been feuding for the NXT North American Championship. However he was reported injured during last week’s NXT tapings. However there is a huge online conflict over the injury. As there are a lot of confusions, here is everything we know about Ivar’s injury so far.
Is Ivar Injured?
It was previously announced that Ivar was injured during last week’s attack by the returning Gallus. Following that Andrews Sports Med on X posted a picture of Ivar with Dr. Andrew Cordover with a thank you note.
Backstage reports says his injury is a storyline angle
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter wrote that Ivar was given time off, because he has been working so hard and the injury is just an angle.
Following that Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that his injury is a work and they have heard that his injury is not true. He also reported the same as Meltzer saying that he is given time-off as he has worked so hard.
Ivar confirms Injury
With the conflicting information circulating on the internet, Ivar, himself has addressed the situation on his X/Twitter. The Viking stated that he is very seriously injured, however didn’t have any surgery. He appreciated fans’ time and concern for him and said that he will be finding a way to return soon.
Ivar on X wrote,
“There has been a lot of misinformation floating around about me. Let me clarify: Yes I am injured. Yes it is very serious. No, I have not had surgery. Still trying to figure out all options and what this means for my future. That being said, I Want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support, not only after finding out I was injured but throughout the last several months, I have heard you all!”
“No matter what happens, I owe it to everyone who ever believed in me to do everything I can to get back in that ring, under those lights, and in front of the most amazing fans on the planet, see you as soon as I can!”
Following the confirmation, Dave Meltzer corrected saying that, “Ivar’s injury is more serious than we were first led to believe”.
However there is no information on what injury he is suffering from and how long will he be off-from television.
