Rhea Ripley punched her ticket to WrestleMania 42 in Chicago.

After losing the Women’s Tag Team titles on the Elimination Chamber go-home show of SmackDown, Rhea Ripley bounced back with a major win at the Chamber PLE in Chicago last Saturday.

Ripley entered the Women’s Chamber match at the fifth spot and outlasted everyone, eliminating Tiffany Stratton last to bag the win and secure her WrestleMania 42 spot.

The win was in line with reports that noted that WWE was planning for the clash between Jade and Bianca Belair. However, due to Belair’s prolonged injury that has kept her sidelined since WrestleMania 41, the promotion went with their backup option, which was Jade vs Rhea.

Jade Cargill & Rhea Ripley traded shots on X after Elimination Chamber

Following the win, Rhea pointed towards the WrestleMania sign and also shared a brief staredown with the WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill, who was watching the action from a suite in the arena.

However, the situation escalated after the match, as the two stars began exchanging barbs on social media. The back-and-forth started when Cargill fired back at Ripley, reminding her she was “the second option.”

That comment came in response to Ripley tweeting, “Guess… I’m that bitch” a phrase closely associated with Cargill, while also highlighting that she will be competing at her seventh consecutive WrestleMania.

What followed was Ripley tagging Cargill in videos of her talking about facing Rhea, and Cargill refuting it by stating that she was just talking and sharing a video of her talking about facing Charlotte Flair. Rhea responded claiming that all Cargill does is talk.

In response, the Women’s Champion didn’t mince words. She accused Ripley of spending hours in discussions with WWE creative, a pointed remark that many interpreted as a subtle jab at the backstage influence Ripley may hold due to her star power.

Notably, Rhea refuted Cargill’s claim as complete nonsense and warned her WrestleMania opponent not to spread false accusations about her.

The interaction has hyped up fans who are now waiting to witness how the build-up unfolds ahead of WrestleMania, where the two will lock horns with the WWE Women’s title up for grabs.
