The Beast Incarnate is back

Brock Lesnar’s shocking return at WWE SummerSlam 2025 has already ignited controversy beyond the squared circle.

Following his appearance at the conclusion of John Cena vs Cody Rhodes, a spokesperson for Janel Grant, the former WWE employee at the center of the sexual abuse lawsuit against Vince McMahon, issued a stern response.

Grant’s representative blasted WWE’s decision to bring Lesnar back despite his alleged involvement in the case, warning that the truth would eventually be revealed.

“For far too long, abuse was allowed to thrive under WWE’s leadership,” the statement read. “Instead of righting this wrong, WWE has done nothing to ensure those responsible are held accountable. This attempt to sweep misconduct under the rug will backfire.”

Janel Grant wants Brock Lesnar in court

The spokesperson continued by urging the public and media to refer to Grant’s updated legal complaint, which contains disturbing allegations of abuse and misconduct.

“We look forward to the full set of facts, including those about Mr. Lesnar, coming out in a court of law where they belong. In the meantime, we refer you back to Janel Grant’s updated complaint, which outlines, in detail, the abuse she endured by McMahon and others while employed at WWE.”

Though Brock Lesnar is not named as a defendant in Grant’s civil lawsuit, he is alleged to have played a role in the broader scheme of abuse. According to the complaint, Vince McMahon used Grant as a “s*xu*l pawn” during contract negotiations with Lesnar.

The court documents claim Grant was coerced into recording and sending explicit content to Lesnar, and that “play dates” were discussed between the two, though they ultimately never occurred.

Lesnar’s return is his first WWE appearance in two years. He was originally scheduled to compete in the 2024 Royal Rumble, but was quietly pulled from the event following the unsealing of Grant’s original lawsuit earlier this year. His name resurfaced in public discussion after excerpts from the amended complaint were made public in the spring.

Reports suggest that WWE’s legal team cleared Lesnar to return four weeks ago, citing internal findings and legal consultation. This move immediately sparked speculation that WWE’s legal battle with Grant may be heading toward a settlement or arbitration, though neither WWE nor Grant’s legal team have confirmed this publicly.

Grant’s lawsuit continues to name Vince McMahon and WWE as defendants, though John Laurinaitis was dropped from the case earlier this year.

The timing of Lesnar’s return, especially in a high-profile moment after Cody Rhodes’ title win, will only fuel further scrutiny of WWE’s decision-making amid an ongoing public relations and legal firestorm. For now, the court of public opinion will rage on, while the legal battle continues behind closed doors.

Is Brock Lesnar a defendant in Janel Grant’s lawsuit?

No, Brock Lesnar is not currently listed as a defendant in the lawsuit. However, the amended complaint alleges that Vince McMahon used Grant to influence Lesnar during contract negotiations.

Why was Brock Lesnar removed from the 2024 Royal Rumble?

Lesnar was pulled from the 2024 Royal Rumble shortly after being linked to the allegations in Grant’s lawsuit. WWE made the decision to remove him amid legal scrutiny.

Is WWE settling the Janel Grant lawsuit?

There’s no official confirmation yet. However, Lesnar’s return has led to speculation that WWE may be preparing for a financial settlement or a move toward arbitration.
