Jey Uso is now set to face Damien Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash
A rivalry between Jey Uso and The Judgement Day is quite visible these days. While it all started when Jey Uso returned to WWE, there are several things he did after he returned and one of them was turning a babyface and not joining the Judgement Day. Let’s see how it all started for Jey Uso and how it is going for him as he is in Monday Night Raw.
How it all Started?
It all started on the Raw edition of September 4 where both Jey and Dominik had a talk about how they come from families that don’t care about them, though there was no response from Jey’s side, Dominik thought that he has joined the faction.
The Rivalry started taking turns on the September 11th Edition of Raw where Kevin Owens and Jey Uso took down the faction but the tables turned when they were against Damian Priest and Finn Balor, where Jey superkicked Kevin Owens by mistake and The Judgement Day won. On September 18, Damian Priest sought an answer from Jey, whether he was part of Judgement Day or not, while Kevin Owens already thought that he has joined their side.
A Decision was made
On the same edition of 18th September, Jey Uso had a fight with Drew McIntyre, where the Judgement Day kept on interfering, when Damian Priest started giving him some tips regarding the fight, Superkicked the Judgement Day members, thus proving his point of not belonging to them.
As he lost the match against Scottish Warrior, he had to face a solid beatdown from the faction afterwards because of what he did. A giant brawl was seen on the next edition of Raw, where the Babyface team got the upper hand.
Undisputed Tag Titles
On October 2, after Jey Uso interrupted the Judgement Day, the faction members, mainly JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio came and gave a beatdown to the Yeet master, afterwards, he was saved by The American Nightmare and both of them went on winning the Undisputed Tag Team Championships in WWE Fastlane 2023.
On the Raw Edition of 18th October, he was attacked by his own brother Jimmy Uso, during the match against the Judgement Day, due to which they went on losing the tag titles sooner than anyone thought of.
War Games
On October 23 Edition of Raw, a fight between Jey Uso and Damian Priest took place where the latter won because of the distractions from the members of the Judgement Day. The matches were to create a storyline for Survivor Series War Games Match where Adam Pierce announced on October 6 that it would be a Traditional match of 5 on 5 because of the Brawl that took place between two teams on the ringside.
On October 13, while Cody and Uso were against the heel team, Drew McIntyre joined The Judgement Day as the 5th member of the heel team with the face team having the Viper, the Architect, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso and Sami Zayn.
What happened thereafter?
Drew McIntyre’s happiness was short-lived when CM Punk cost him his title he won in WrestleMania 40. The Money in the Bank case was cashed in and Priest became the World Champion. On the April 8 edition of Raw, Jey Uso won a fatal four way match for the number 1 contender of the World Title as CM Punk interfered in the match and costed Drew his chance again.
Both Jey and Priest will now face each other in Backlash which will happen in France. It will be interesting to see if there is a title change as all the odds are against Jey Uso at the time of the draft, which happened on 26th April 2024.
