Call of Duty and WWE are coming together for a crossover soon!

WWE has been in collaboration with a number of brands, energy drinks, video game studios and more commercial promotions in recent times. The crossovers are most often seen and promoted for combined success.

In recent times WWE collaborated with The Boys and The Walking Dead, which has participated in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. At this stage, the Stamford-based promotion entered into a crossover with one of the biggest video game developers, Activision for one of the greatest crossover games, Call of Duty. Now a major announcement regarding a featuring WWE star has been revealed and it raises the anticipation for the release.

John Cena in WWE x Call of Duty Crossover

Call of Duty on X/Twitter announced that a crossover between WWE & Call of Duty has been scheduled for July 24, 2024. However, there wasn’t any information about the potential crossover.

Call of Duty on X wrote, “It’s about to be a smackdown. @WWE is bringing its best to the ring in Call of Duty Season 5 starting July 24.”

Following that, it was recently reported that the 16-time World Champion and the GOAT John Cena will be playing a major role in the WWE – Call of Duty collaboration.

The reports suggest that Cena could most likely be the voice of the game and potentially a character skin. It is believed that Cena could have appeared in the promotional videos to capitalize on Cena’s fame before his retirement.

The rumors around the crossover reveal some of the interesting things to watch out for as a part of the collaboration. It is believed that at least three wrestler skins could be featured in the Warzone. Apart from Cena, others are believed to be Rey Mysterio, Roman Reigns, Rominik Mysterio and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

This is not the first time WWE has collaborated with a video game studio, as major stars such as John Cena, Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair already got their Fortnite skins and Undertaker previously appeared on the Rainbow Six: Siege.
