Kevin Owens reveals real reason behind using 'Stone Cold's Stunner': WWE

Kevin Owens will face Cody Rhodes this Saturday
‘The Prizefighter’ Kevin Owens is all set to face his former friend Cody Rhodes this Saturday for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The Stamford-based promotion is bringing back Saturday Night’s Main Event after its last revived run in 2008. The classic show will return with a special broadcast on both NBC and Peacock on December 14 at 8 p.m. ET from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island, New York.
Owens and Rhodes have been involved in a fierce feud since Bad Blood 2024 where The American Nightmare teamed up with Roman Reigns, Owen’s arch-nemesis. This led to the Prizefighter attacking the Undisputed champion after the PLE.
Randy Orton was also caught up in this rivalry when he attempted to mediate between the two stars last month. The situation escalated into a feud between Owens and Orton, culminating in Owens delivering the banned ‘Piledriver’ to the Viper, resulting in a serious injury.

Kevin Owens had an ulterior motive for using the ‘Stunner’
In a recent episode of the WWE Retrospective, The Prizefighter looked back at his 10 years in the promotion and shared stories about John Cena, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, and more.
In the interview, Owens was rocking pro wrestling legend and Cody Rhodes’ father Dusty Rhodes merch which many pointed out was just to troll Cody ahead of their clash at SNME.
During the conversation, The Prizefighter disclosed his real motive behind using the Stunner. Owens started using the Stunner in 2019 after the Pop-Up Powerbomb had been his primary finisher before that.
“I think I need a new finishing move, Everybody’s kind of doing powerbombs now! So, I went and asked Stone Cold, Can I use ‘The Stone Cold Stunner? He was like ‘Yeah, Yeah You can!’
And in the back of my head, I must confess that when I first asked Stone Cold about it, Sure I would love to get to use the Stone Cold Stunner, Imagine – There’s the best finishing move of all time, But I also figured on the off chance, that he comes back for one more match.
Obviously, you’d think he would wrestle the guy, (who is) using the stunner and that’s exactly what f*****g happened! It worked! Amazing! It was the long game, I played the long game on that one.” Owens revelaed.
Owens fought Stone Cold in a no-holds-barred match at WrestleMania 38 which aired from the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, USA on 02 April 2022.
Who do you think will win in the clash between the two former friends this Saturday? What do you think of Owens’ decision to use the ‘Stone Cold Stunner’? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section.
