‘The Scottish Psychopath’ went live on TikTok ahead of 12/20 SmackDown
Drew McIntyre went live on TikTok last night and answered fan queries, the Scottish star also shared his thoughts on AEW, New Japan Pro-Wrestling as well as the independent scene.
McIntyre made his return earlier this month on the December 03 episode of the Red brand and attacked Sami Zayn. He was absent from WWE programming for two months following his brutal loss at Bad Blood 2024 PLE against CM Punk.
McIntyre in his return targeted Sami Zayn and Jey Uso as he made clear that he will not rest until he takes out every member of the OG Bloodline faction. The Scottish star also attacked Jimmy Uso on the last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
The attack on Zayn and Jimmy led to a grudge match between Drew and Zayn last week at Saturday Night’s Main Event where the Scottish star picked up the win via a vicious Claymore.
Drew McIntyre lauds the independent wrestling scene
During McIntyre’s livestream a fan asked for his thoughts on (All Elite Wrestling) AEW’s current product. The Scottish star revealed that he caught up with a lot of fellow wrestlers during his hiatus from the WWE ring.
Drew lauded the independent scene and stated that he is happy to see that so many of his friends are making a full-time living. The Scottish star also praised New Japan Pro-Wrestling alongside AEW and the independent scene.
“Thoughts on AEW’s current product?
I mean, I’m happy to watch all wrestling, especially when I’m off. You know, when I was out about three months, but one person f*****g called me the entire time I was out. And that’s a chance for me to catch up on everything…AEW, and New Japan, and the independent scene.
And I’m just happy to see so many people that I’m friends with making a full-time living. That wasn’t the case when I was fired in 2014 and re-invented what it meant to be an independent wrestler. And using social media, as I still do to this day at the top levels…to rebrand myself. To see how much the industry grew in those three years, and led to so many places for so many people, and making a full-time living, is awesome.”
Drew McIntyre teases feud with Cody Rhodes
The Scottish Warrior also revealed that he is preparing for an explosive feud with the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. During the live stream, the WWE star teased that big things are on the way.
“I don’t want to give too much away. It’s going to be significant when the time comes… The world is going to be along for the ride. Feelings will be hurt, bodies will be,” Drew revealed.
McIntyre drew parallels between his and Rhodes’ careers, including their WWE departures and returns as larger-than-life Superstars. He highlighted his impact on indie wrestling and Rhodes’ role in establishing AEW.
“He went out just like myself, I redifined what an independent wrestler means. He ended up forming another company, taking it to next level and now showing what can be done in the true independent level” The Scottish Warrior said.
“Cody and I, it’s going to be big when it happens,” McIntyre said while discussing a potential feud with the Undisputed Champion.
As mentioned above, McIntyre is currently involved in a storyline with the OG Bloodline while Cody Rhodes is involved in a gruesome feud with Kevin Owens.
The Stamford-based promotion is planning for a main event push for the Scottish star in 2025 which might result in a clash against the American Nightmare.
Who do you think will be McIntyre’s next target from the OG faction? Do you like the idea of Drew fighting Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed title? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section.
