LA Knight and Shinsuke Nakamura are scheduled to clash at Survivor Series 2024

The United States Champion, LA Knight made his first WWE appearance in 2013, but he was released from his contract on August 1, 2014.

Knight re-signed with the promotion in 2021 after multiple negotiations at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day and debuted as a heel.  Following his attack on Cameron Grimes, Knight aligned himself with Ted DiBiase on the 05/25/21 episode of NXT.

Knight made his main roster debut on the January 24, 2022 episode of Raw, appearing in a backstage segment alongside Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode of The Dirty Dawgs. He was then involved in multiple feuds against Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns, and AJ Styles.

In 2024, Knight began a feud with social media megastar and the then-US champion Logan Paul. The feud between the two stars culminated at the SummerSlam 2024 PLE where Knight defeated Logan to win his first WWE title. Knight’s US title reign is currently at 116 days.

Following his title win at SummerSlam Knight re-worked his contract to extend his time with the Stamford-based promotion and increase his pay.

On the other hand, Shinsuke Nakamura made his promotional debut in April 2016 amid much media attention. Nakamura made a triumphant debut at NXT TakeOver: Dallas on April 1, defeating Sami Zayn in a highly praised match.

Nakamura won his first WWE title at NXT TakeOver: The End when he defeated Austin Aries in June 2016 and won the NXT Championship. His title reign ended after 91 days when he was defeated by Joe in his first defense, this was his first televised loss in NXT.

The Japanese star started his second title reign after defeating Samoa Joe in his hometown of Osaka, Japan. His second reign lasted 56 days and was broken following a defeat at the hands of Bobby Roode.

The Japanese star made his main roster debut in April 2017 on Friday Night SmackDown. He won his first main roster title, the WWE United States Championship at Extreme Rules 2018 after defeating Jeff Hardy.

Nakamura’s reign ended at 156 days following his defeat to Rusev on the December 25, 2018 episode of SmackDown. However, he bounced back and won the US title once again at the Royal Rumble 2019 against Rusev.

His second title reign ended just after two days following his loss to R-Truth. The Japanese star claimed his first Intercontinental Championship title by defeating Finn Bálor at the 2019 Extreme Rules pre-show on July 14.

Nakamura’s first IC title reign lasted 201 days, he was defeated by Braun Strowman on the 01/31/20 episode of SmackDown.

Nakamura then formed a tag team with Cesaro, the new tag team secured the SmackDown Tag Team Championship titles by defeating Kofi Kingston and Big E in a tables match at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules on July 19, 202.

However, their reign was short-lived, as they lost the titles to Kingston and Xavier Woods on the October 9 episode of SmackDown which ended their 82 days reign.

On the August 13, 2021, episode of SmackDown, Nakamura defeated Apollo Crews to win his second Intercontinental Championship. His second title reign lasted 182 days and was broken when he suffered defeat at the hands of Sami Zayn.
