Mysterio has been making multiple appearances during AAA shows, but has yet to make his in-ring return. According to Mike Johnson of PW Insider Elite, Mysterio is expected to be back at the WWE Performance Center this week as he continues his recovery and progresses toward receiving medical clearance for an in-ring return.
His upcoming visit to WWE’s training facility in Orlando, Florida, represents a significant step in his recovery process and suggests that his return to television may be just around the corner.
Reports suggest major plans for Mysterio within its ongoing partnership with AAA. According to an earlier report from WrestleVotes Radio, the promotion has plans to feature Mysterio in a “major role” as part of the AAA crossover initiative.
The same report indicated that WWE is exploring the possibility of holding another co-branded streaming event with AAA before the end of 2025, with Survivor Series weekend in San Diego, Mysterio’s hometown, being considered as a potential location.
Rey’s son, Dominik Mysterio, is currently the AAA Mega Champion, and the storyline between the two can be utilized to set up an exciting clash between the two, possibly for the AAA event, which is reportedly planned before the end of 2025.
