WWE Night of Champions 2025 is to be held in Saudi Arabia

As tensions rise in the Middle East due to the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict, questions have understandably surfaced regarding WWE’s upcoming premium live event, Night of Champions 2025, scheduled for June 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Despite the escalating situation, the latest reports indicate that WWE is still moving forward with the event as planned, though not without a few complications.

According to PWInsider and Fightful Select, WWE production staff have been on the ground in Saudi Arabia since the week of June 9, and event setup at the Mohammed Abdu Arena has been underway for at least a week.

This level of preparation suggests that WWE and its partners in the region remain confident the show will proceed despite the geopolitical climate.

However, not everything has gone smoothly. The report also notes that five WWE production staff members are currently stranded in Qatar due to temporary airspace closures in the region.

These individuals were reportedly en route to Riyadh with a layover in Qatar when their connecting flight was delayed amid the military activity overhead. It’s an unsettling reminder of the risks involved with international events during regional conflict.

Despite these logistical challenges, Fightful reports that Saudi Arabian government officials have conducted meetings this week to assess the situation, and WWE has not informed its talent of any changes to travel or scheduling.

WWE Superstars still scheduled to fly out midweek for Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia

As of Monday evening, WWE Superstars are still scheduled to fly out midweek via a chartered flight, indicating that, for now, business continues as usual.

Interestingly, it was also noted that bonuses for working Saudi events are no longer standard. Instead, compensation is now typically structured into talent contracts, making these shows a regular part of their global calendar.

While safety remains a concern given the broader Middle East conflict, all indications as of now point to WWE Night of Champions 2025 still taking place as scheduled. WWE is reportedly closely monitoring developments and is expected to act swiftly should the situation escalate further.
