The Brother vs Brother match at WrestleMania 40 was a big letdown

Jey Uso is one of the most beloved baby faces in WWE currently, who has been having a great run in the company, especially during the last three years.

He was a part of The Bloodline until SummerSlam 2023, but he left the faction after witnessing a betrayal from his elder twin Jimmy Uso. Jey went on to pursue his interest in being a singles wrestler, but Jimmy interfered in his match.

This resulted in a Brother vs Brother match at WrestleMania 40 Night 2, where Jey won. But the match couldn’t fulfil expectations of the fans. Jey has now revealed the actual reason behind the poor delivery of the match.

Jey Uso blames time constraints at WrestleMania 40

“Main Event” Jey Uso recently appeared for an interview with Gorilla Position, where he spoke about his WrestleMania 40 match with Jimmy Uso. Jey said that he & Jimmy let the people down with the quality of the match. He reveals that a number of bangers and emotional parts were planned for the match, but the time constraints spoiled it.

Jey Uso said,

“I just said this to someone. I kinda felt like we did let the people down. [Really, you feel that?] Yeah, man, cuz I wanted to go out there and have a straight up banger too. I wanted to do the wrestling part but let alone make sure the emotion part is there. It was just a time issue. You know what I’m saying? You just gotta play your position on the team. That’s what happened.”

Jey continued saying that he is still happy with the match at WrestleMania, and would frame it to cherish for life time.

Jey said,

“I’m still happy though, Uce, I got a singles match at WrestleMania with my brother. That’s a big picture. So, I’mma always have me and him in a face-off at WrestleMania. I’mma frame a picture, that’s always, it’s marked off our box. I just wish we could have went the way I know we can”

“[Is that something that happens on the night? Like, do you find out just before your time is cut?] Oh, yeah. ‘Yo, yo, man, they went over this many minutes. Sorry, sorry, You know, it’s all good, you know. Just go out there and handle business.”

Jey Uso is now all set to challenge Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash in France on May 4, 2024.
