A historic night awaits as WWE heads to Italy for the first time.
WWE Clash in Italy will take place at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy, on Sunday, May 31. This is the first-ever WWE Premium Live Event to be held in Italy and the fourth edition of WWE’s “Clash” event, previously titled Clash in Paris in 2025.
The card features five matches, four of which are rematches stemming from recent rivalries and championship clashes, with four championships on the line.
The two most significant matchups of the evening involve Roman Reigns defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu in Tribal Combat, and Cody Rhodes putting the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against Gunther.
What’s in store for WWE Clash in Italy?

World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu will bring Tribal Combat to Italy. The Tribal Chief retained the title against The Samoan Werewolf at Backlash, but Fatu heinously attacked Reigns after the match.
The Monday after Backlash, Fatu went on a rampage when he put the Tongan Death Grip on The Usos and attacked officials. Facing a firing from WWE on the May 18 edition of Raw, Fatu challenged Reigns to Tribal Combat for the title at Clash in Italy.
WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has a new rival on his hands in former World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. After issuing an open challenge to the SmackDown locker room, Gunther dramatically appeared and put Rhodes in a sleeper hold. Now Rhodes is battling not only Gunther, but his friend Sami Zayn, who allowed another Gunther attack to happen without intervening.
Rhea Ripley is set to defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill at Clash in Italy. Mami will look to assert her dominance on the grandest European stage yet, while Cargill, an imposing challenger with elite athleticism, aims to claim Women’s gold for the first time.
Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch will defend her title against Sol Ruca at Clash in Italy. The Man has been a cornerstone of WWE’s women’s division, and Sol Ruca, one of the most exciting young talents on the roster, brings a style completely unlike anything Becky has faced before.
The rematch carries added stakes as Ruca looks to prove her first outing was no fluke and stake her claim to championship gold.
At WWE Clash in Italy, Oba Femi goes head-to-head with Brock Lesnar in a WrestleMania rematch. At WrestleMania 42, Femi sent shockwaves through WWE when he conquered The Beast.
Now, Lesnar returns to reclaim his aura as the most unstoppable force in professional wrestling, while Femi looks to cement himself as the next generational monster in WWE. The collision of two physically dominant superstars in front of a packed Italian crowd will be must-see television.
Don’t miss WWE Clash in Italy, Sunday, May 31 at 2 PM ET / 11 AM PT on the ESPN App with an ESPN Unlimited plan in the United States and on Netflix internationally (excluding select markets).

Potential returns expected on the show

Gunther vs Rhodes is reportedly a creative audible due to a back injury to Randy Orton, who has been out since WrestleMania 42 but has refuted reports of an injury. WWE advertised Orton for the May 29 episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Barcelona ahead of Clash in Italy, with it being intriguing to see how Orton reenters the title picture.
Orton, despite not being on TV for several weeks, could be the X-factor at WWE Clash in Italy. Whether he returns in Turin and costs Rhodes the WWE title, causes a disqualification finish so that Rhodes retains, or does not show up at all, his unseen presence looms large, making Gunther vs. Rhodes a difficult match to predict.
The closing image of WrestleMania 42 Saturday saw Randy Orton standing with the WWE Championship above his shoulders as a bloodied Cody Rhodes lay at his feet. It has been over a month, and Orton has not been seen since that moment, with his post-match attack on Rhodes receiving no initial follow-up. Turin could be the moment everything finally comes to a head.
