A number of titles changed hands on ‘The Grandest Stage Of Them All’

WWE is one of the biggest professional wrestling promotions in the world, where the wrestlers compete for the championship. It is a dream for many to hold a title and some achieve their dream in style on the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania.

The company currently has 14 championships, including two World Championships on the Men’s roster, two World Championships on the Women’s roster, two secondary championships, and two tag team championships on the main roster. The company also has four championships in its secondary brand NXT. Here we take a look at the current WWE champions who hold titles on the main roster (RAW and SmackDown) and NXT after WrestleMania 40.

At WrestleMania 40, all the championships were defended, except the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. A total of eight new champions were crowned, including a tag team championship split and a Money in the Bank cash-in.

The Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship got split back to Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championship, with Austin Theory & Grayson Waller taking the SmackDown Tag Team Championship and R-Truth taking the Raw Tag Team Championship.

Damian Priest won the World Heavyweight Championship by cashing-in his Money in the Bank contract on the newly crowned champion, Drew McIntyre. Both the Royal Rumble winners successfully used their opportunity to win the World Championship, where Bayley won the WWE Women’s Championship and Cody Rhodes won the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

During the WrestleMania week-end, NXT hosted Stand & Deliver, where all the championships, except the NXT Heritage Cup was defended on the line and only one new champion was crowned, which was Roxanne Perez (NXT Women’s Champion). Axion & Nathan Frazer won the NXT Tag Team Championship on the Stand & Deliver fall-out episode of NXT in a rematch.
