WWE stars have ascended to stardom after winning the NXT title.
WWE’s developmental territory, NXT, has crowned World Champions since the belt was introduced in 2012. Over the years, multiple WWE aspirants have won the title, which has been a catalyst for them to ascend to the next level.
At the same time, some have set impressive title-reign records. Here are the top five longest-reigning WWE NXT Champions of all time.
5. Bo Dallas- 260 days
Catch Every Update, Anytime, Anywhere
One of the biggest highlights of Bo Dallas’ WWE career was winning the NXT Championship. He defeated Big E on the May 23, 2013, episode of NXT following an enthralling bout and went on to hold the title for 260 days as recognized by the company.
4. Neville – 286 days
During his NXT tenure, Neville began his career in the Stamford-based promotion as ‘Adrian Neville.’ After showing impressive performances, Neville challenged and defeated Bo Dallas for the NXT Championship. Much like Dallas, Neville also had a lengthy title reign, holding the belt for 286 days.
3. Finn Balor- 292 days
Finn Balor’s first reign as the NXT Champion began at the special event titled ‘Beast in the East’ in 2015. He put up a stellar bout against Kevin Owens and defeated him to win the title. Balor’s reign went on for 292 days until he was dethroned by Samoa Joe at a live event in 2016.
2. Bron Breakker- 361 days
The rivalry between Bron Breakker and Dolph Ziggler over the NXT Championship led to a title match on RAW in 2022. The Unpredictible Badass outlasted The Showoff to begin his second reign as NXT Champion and went on to hold the title for an impressive 361 days.
1. Adam Cole- 403 days
The record for the longest-reigning NXT Champion was set by former WWE superstar Adam Cole. The Panama Playboy challenged Johnny Gargano for the title at NXT TakeOver: New York in 2019 and defeated him to win his first NXT Championship.
Cole’s reign lasted for 403 days until Keith Lee beat him in a Champion vs Champion: Winner Take All match at NXT: The Great American Bash in 2020.
