The Irish star kicked off her WWE career with the NXT
Lyra Valkyria kicked off her WWE career with the developmental brand NXT, she stayed with NXT UK until its closing in fall 2022. Following the closing of NXT UK, Valkyria moved to the United States to compete in the developmental brand.
The move saw Lyra capture her first WWE title at Halloween Havoc 2023 when she defeated Becky Lynch to become the new NXT Women’s Champion. Valkyria went on to defend the title five times before losing to Roxanne Perez, ending her title reign at 165 days.
During the 2024 WWE Draft, Lyra was promoted to the main roster where she joined the Monday Night Raw brand. Valkyria once again showcased her worth when in December she entered the tournament for the inaugural Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
Valkyria defeated Iyo Sky in the semi-finals followed by Dakota Kai in the finals to win the inaugural Women’s Intercontinental Champion. Her current title reign is at 93 days and she has defended the title a total of four times.
Valkyria teamed up with Bayley, and together they won the gauntlet match on the April 11 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, to become the number one contenders for the WWE Women’s Championship. The two were now set to battle the current champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez at WrestleMania 41 PLE.
However, Bayley was removed from the match following an injury as result of a backstage attack. Let us now take a look at the WrestleMania record of the Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

The 41st edition of WrestleMania PLE was Lyra Valkyria’s first appearance at the ‘Grandest Stage’ as she teamed up with Becky Lynch, who made her return after almost a year, the two captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship defeating Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
