Jonathan Coachman was wrong about Roman Reigns’ contract status

The latest reports that Roman Reigns was requested to renegotiate his contract or take a salary cut have been proven incorrect.

The suspicion began when veteran WWE announcer Jonathan Coachman said that TKO Group Holdings had approached Reigns about renegotiating his lucrative contract. However, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter refutes these allegations and throws additional insight into WWE’s top earners.

According to Dave Meltzer’s report, Reigns is not being asked for a change in his contract and will remain WWE’s highest-paid full-time star.

He wrote: “As far as income goes, there are seven WWE performers earning well over $5 million per year, with two others potentially reaching that mark this year. Apart from The Rock, Roman Reigns is the top earner. The stories from Jonathan Coachman about TKO asking Reigns for a pay cut or contract restructuring are false.”

Jey Uso lost his WWE Championship for this MAJOR reason

On this week’s WWE Raw, Jey Uso was shockingly defeated by Gunther. Given that Jey was defending his World Heavyweight Championship, he was expected to win and keep the championship.

However, WWE chose to stop Jey’s title run, and he lost the belt. He won the championship against Gunther at WrestleMania 41, and his reign lasted less than two months.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Triple H decided to stop Jey’s title run. WWE’s Chief Content Officer allegedly wanted the bout between Gunther and Goldberg to be a title contest. As a result, he took the decision to get the title off Jey.

Interestingly, it is on the same day as AEW, WWE’s competitor, hosts the All In event. Because it will be Goldberg’s last match, many may want to watch the Saturday Night Main Event. WWE is scheduled to formally announce the date of Goldberg’s farewell bout on next week’s Raw.

When the WWE Hall of Famer returned to Bad Blood in October 2024, the company hyped a match between Gunther and Goldberg. Gunther taunted the WWE veteran and crossed the line with his remarks. A month later, Goldberg said that he will fight in his retirement match in 2025.

Gunther had always planned to meet Goldberg in his final bout, and the dream match now appears to be set on July 12. Goldberg last faced Roman Reigns at the Elimination Chamber 2022.
