Major update on Kevin Owens WWE status; AEW set to offer huge deal
KO has over a decade long history with WWE!
Kevin Owens is a Canadian Professional Wrestler, who has been signed to WWE since 2014. Owens has been one of the charismatic wrestlers, who has been showcasing some of the great matches and segments throughout his run.
Owens is a nine-time champion in WWE and is the 16th Grand Slam Champion of the company. Owens excelled both as a babyface and as a heel in his run and attained great success. Owens is currently on the SmackDown roster and is one of the biggest assets of the company. At this stage a major update on KO’s WWE status has been revealed and reports AEW’s interest.
Kevin Owens’ WWE status & AEW deal
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, WWE has approached Kevin Owens to sign a new deal, as he is nearing the end of his contract by January 2025. Owens last signed a contract extension in January 2022, which also was used in his past storyline.
The report also reveals that WWE’s rival promotion, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is seemingly having a long time interest in signing Owens for a huge deal if his current WWE contract expires and enters the free agency market. Owens has some of his close friends in the Jacksonville based company including Adam Cole, Young Bucks, Bryan Danielson and more, however the inside sources within WWE believe that it is unlikely for Owens to jump the ship from WWE to AEW.
A number of WWE stars, whose contract is expected to end by the same time as Owens, has signed a big time contract extension including Damian Priest, Sheamus, Seth Rollins and more. The company also reached out to some major stars for an aggressive deal including Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan & Nia Jax.
Earlier this year, Owens while addressing his WWE contract said that he has been in the company for 10 years and has great bond beyond the locker room and can’t imagine a life without them.
Kevin Owens said, “This has been my home for 10 years and it’s beyond the locker room. There’s some very, very, very special people that work behind the scenes that I’ve become very close with, and I really can’t imagine not seeing them as part of my life.”
