BREAKING: Major update on Liv Morgan's WWE return amid injury hiatus

The former World Champion has been out of action due to injury.

Former Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan has been absent from WWE programming since June due to an injury. The other half of the Women’s Tag Team Champion took on Kairi Sane in a singles match at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on the June 16 episode of Monday Night Raw.

During the match, Morgan landed face-first on the mat, as did her right shoulder. Morgan shouted in anguish and rolled out of the ring as the referee prevented Sane from attempting any further moves.

Morgan fell down and gripped her shoulder as medical professionals arrived to check on her. The contest was finally called off when Morgan was unable to compete and was taken backstage. Sane was declared the winner by forfeit.

Liv Morgan could be cleared to return to in-ring competition by early 2026

Amid her absence, a new report from PW Insider Elite has provided an update on the former Women’s World Champion.

The report indicates that WWE internally expects Morgan to be cleared for in-ring competition by early 2026, though there’s optimism she could make her return even earlier if her recovery keeps advancing positively.

Several WWE sources told PW Insider Elite that officials are “very excited” about Morgan’s eventual return to the active roster, adding that her strong popularity, especially in Saudi Arabia, may play a role in shaping the plans for her comeback.

Morgan has remained noticeably quiet about her recovery and possible return timeline, keeping fans in the dark. However, this new report has finally provided some much-needed clarity on her status.

Considering WWE’s recent trend of unexpected returns, drawing massive reaction from fans there’s speculation that Morgan’s comeback might be reserved as a surprise entrant for the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event, scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia in early 2026.
