WWE Clash at the Castle is the upcoming Premium Live Event on WWE, which is scheduled to be held on June 15, 2024 from the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. This is the second Clash at the Castle Event and the first PLE to take place in Scotland, United Kingdom.
With just three weeks from the biggest PLE of Scotland, WWE have already announced the World Heavyweight Championship match. Now following this week’s SmackDown, the company has officially announced, yet another major match for the show.
Bayley vs Piper Niven announced for Clash at the Castle 2024
Piper Niven and Bayley have been teasing a feud for weeks, since Niven & Chelsea made their way to SmackDown after the WWE Draft. They had a number of backstage moments in the show, which resulted in Bayley challenging Chelsea Green on SmackDown in Saudi Arabia. The Role Model defeated Chelsea in the show, but got brutally assaulted by Piper Niven after the match.
The assault continued this week, where Bayley when addressing Nia Jax got attacked by Niven from the back. Niven then made her intentions clear, that she wanted the WWE Women’s title. Later the same night, Niven and Green faced Naomi and Bayley, where the team of Niven and Chelsea defeated the champ and Naomi.
After this week’s domination from Niven, WWE officially announced on their social media that Bayley will be defending her WWE Women’s Championship against Piper Niven in a singles match at WWE Clash at the Castle 2024 in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom on June 15, 2024.
It will be the Champ’s third title defense on TV and Piper Niven’s first major single’s title shot. It is also important to note that Piper Niven will have the home-country advantage in Scotland.
Piper Niven is not the only Scottish challenger to fight for the title. Drew McIntyre, the Scottish Warrior is also scheduled to fight for the world title in his hometown. Drew will be fighting Damian Priest in a singles match with the World Heavyweight Championship on the line. Interestingly both the champions are from Latin background and both the challengers are from Scotland.
Could the home country advantage favour Piper Niven to dethrone Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
