The OTC has been absent from WWE programming since April!

‘The OTC’ Roman Reigns has been absent from WWE programming since Raw after WrestleMania 41, where he tried to confront Paul Heyman for betraying him. However, Reigns suffered a beatdown, courtesy of Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman’s henchman, Bron Breakker.

Since his absence, fans have speculated about his return, which seemed possible on multiple occasions. However, a new report has provided an update on Reigns’ WWE return.

What Happened?

According to WrestleVotes Radio, Reigns is close to his return, and he will be back on WWE TV ahead of the SummerSlam PLE. The 2025 edition of SummerSlam is scheduled for August 2 and August 3 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The reports further note that there are also plans for Reigns to embrace a new variation of his Tribal Chief persona, much like his return at SummerSlam 2024 when he reappeared as the OTC.

It’s that time of year again as the return of Roman Reigns is nearing. According to several within the company, the preparation behind the return of the Tribal Chief has begun, including new merchandising and marketing for Roman, who has been off of TV since the night after WrestleMania.

Sources indicate that while having Roman work the Saudi PLE was under discussion for some time, Reigns will indeed be back prior to SummerSlam as he’s set to be a main part of that two-night event…We are hearing alternate Tribal Chief monikers are being considered this time around,”

Roman Reigns joins live-action Street Fighter movie as Akuma

After months of speculation, the rumors surrounding his casting have now been put to rest. Filming is scheduled to start this August in Australia, although specific plot details are still being kept under wraps.

 Here’s the full confirmed cast:

  • Joe Anoa’i (Roman Reigns) as Akuma
  • Callina Liang as Chun-Li
  • Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog
  • Andrew Koji as Ryu
  • Noah Centineo as Ken
  • Jason Momoa as Blanka
