The former World Champion has opened up about her WWE release
Former WWE Women’s World Champion Carmella’s contract with the WWE expired recently and the promotion opted not to renew her contract. This came after a lengthy absence from WWE programming, with Carmella’s last appearance in March 2023.
The former Women’s World Champion last month reacted to her release via her Instagram story, in a video she posted, Carmella explained that she hadn’t shared anything sooner due to being sick and stated that she has more to tell the fans and will do so in an upcoming podcast appearance
Carmella followed on her promise and in a recent appearance on the Barely Famous podcast, she expressed her shock over the way her exit from the promotion unfolded and questioned if the promotion released her because of the birth of her baby.
“Is it because I’m a woman? Is it because I had a baby? And it just feels like a shtty way to end a 12-year career with the company. This is how it ended.” Carmella said.
The former Women’s World Champion further revealed that she was only notified about her contract expiring 10 days before it happened, and after that, she was “completely ghosted.” She also said that the exit felt like she was being penalized for having a child.
“I got a call saying that my contract was up in 10 days… Ghosted. Ghosted. Completely ghosted, Why wasn’t I given an opportunity somewhere else? I feel like I’m being punished because I had a baby.” the former World Champion concluded.
Naomi spotted in a neck brace following Elimination Chamber PLE
Naomi entered the women’s Elimination Chamber on March 1 with one goal in mind which was to win and punch her ticket to WrestleMania. Noami along with Liv Morgan were ready to start the Chamber match while Bianca Belair, Roxanne Perez, Bayley and Alexa Bliss were locked inside the pod.
However, to everyone’s surpsie Jade Cargill made her surprising return before the action could properly commence. Cargill entered the cage and instead of going after Liv Morgan as everyone expected she ambushed Naomi battering her former friend.
The assault left Naomi unable to compete in the match and she was eliminated due to the injury. She was strechered out of the arena as the match continued with the remaining participants.
While there have been no updates on her next appearance or her about her injury, Naomi recently shared a photo in which she was wearing a neckbrace, she shared the photo on her X (Twitter) handle with her husband and WWE star Jimmy Uso at the “Queen of the Ring” premiere.
Earlier media reports suggested that Naomi was removed from scheduled appearances at media junkets to promote “Queen of the Ring,” to sell the Jade Cargill beatdown at Elimination Chamber.
Jade Cargill appearance has been announced for this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, while the promotion has not provided any update on Naomi’s next appearance.
