Seven-time Super Bowl champion says he’s waiting for a WWE invitation, while Cody Rhodes admits the door is “certainly open”

Tom Brady’s long-rumored interest in WWE appears to be more real than ever after the NFL legend publicly admitted he wants to compete inside the squared circle.

Brady made the comments during Cody Rhodes’ live What Do You Wanna Talk About? Podcast at Fanatics Fest in New York, where the seven-time Super Bowl champion revealed he is still waiting for WWE President Nick Khan to offer him a storyline.

The remarks have reignited speculation that Brady could eventually make the jump to WWE, especially after earlier rumors linked him to a potential WrestleMania 42 appearance following his online exchanges with Logan Paul.

Tom Brady says he’s ready for one WWE match

Brady admitted he has yet to receive an official invitation from WWE but made it clear he is eager to step into the ring now that his football career is over.

“I need to get an invite. I mean, I’ve been waiting for Nick Khan to come up with some storyline for me to get in the mix.”

The former quarterback joked that retirement has given him the perfect opportunity to test himself in a completely different arena.

“I feel like, I’m retired from football. I have the opportunity to go out there and still showcase that I’m a little bit of an athlete.”

Brady also pointed to fellow NFL star Rob Gronkowski and social media star Logan Paul as examples of athletes who successfully crossed over into WWE.

“My boy Gronk’s done it. I’ve seen obviously Logan Paul do it. I think I could get in there for at least one match, right? Come on, Nick. Come on, make it happen!”

Although Brady was heavily linked with a possible WrestleMania 42 appearance earlier this year after trading words with Logan Paul, the anticipated crossover never materialized. However, his latest comments suggest the idea remains very much alive.

During the conversation, Cody Rhodes asked Brady whether he would rather play the role of a fan-favorite hero or a villain if he ever entered WWE. For Brady, the answer came instantly.

“It’s such an easy choice. I’m a bad guy. I’ve always been a bad guy.”

He explained that some of his greatest memories in the NFL came from silencing hostile crowds on the road.

“It’s an incredible feeling when you work that entire day to basically try to send the crowd home early.”

Brady recalled looking into opposing stadiums late in games and watching disappointed home fans begin leaving before the final whistle.

“With three minutes left in the game, you look up in the stands, and there’s 20,000 people left. And a lot of them are now rooting for you, and you realize, okay, job well done today.”

The comments perfectly fit the mindset of a classic WWE heel. Cody Rhodes then added even more intrigue by responding on behalf of WWE President Nick Khan.

“The invite is certainly open.”

While no match has been announced, Brady’s enthusiasm, combined with Rhodes’ public endorsement, has only intensified speculation that one of the NFL’s greatest players could eventually make his WWE debut.

Whether that happens at WrestleMania, a Saudi Arabia premium live event or another major show remains to be seen, but Brady has made one thing perfectly clear, he’s ready if WWE makes the call.
