CM Punk chose to stay quiet when asked about Roman Reigns

At WWE Survivor Series 2024, CM Punk and Roman Reigns coexisted as unlikely allies in the brutal WarGames match. Despite their differences and the palpable tension between them, Punk kept his feelings about Reigns’ success short and sweet during the post-event media scrum.

When asked about Roman’s meteoric rise & remarkable journey from The Shield to WWE’s flagship star, Punk responded with two simple words: “No comment.”

This enigmatic response from The Best in the World highlighted the deep animosity between the two men, which has been brewing for months.

Their issues were front and center during the buildup to Survivor Series, particularly in a face-to-face sit-down on SmackDown just days before the PLE.

As the two Superstars collided in the WarGames match, the strain between them was evident, but it was CM Punk who ultimately played a crucial role in ensuring Roman Reigns’ team emerged victorious.

Men’s WarGames Match: The OG Bloodline vs The New Bloodline

The high-stakes WarGames match at Survivor Series 2024 was a chaotic and violent affair, with Roman Reigns leading a team of CM Punk, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, and Sami Zayn against Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Bronson Reed. From the opening moments, tensions were high, especially between Punk and Reigns, as they couldn’t even agree on how to enter the match.

The match kicked off with Jey Uso and Tonga Loa squaring off. As the countdowns continued, Zayn entered the match, and the conflict between Punk and Reigns flared up, with Reigns preventing Punk from entering at one point. After a brief standoff, Punk pushed past Reigns, bringing a toolbox into the cage to use as a weapon.

The drama escalated when Sikoa locked the cage door to prevent Reigns from entering, but Reigns took matters into his own hands, scaling the cage and leaping off with a crossbody onto the entire opposing team, sending the fans into a frenzy. Despite their differences, Paul Heyman made his way to ringside to smooth over the situation and encourage cooperation between Punk and Reigns.

However, the animosity persisted. Reigns inadvertently speared Punk, and Sikoa capitalized with a Spear of his own, nearly securing the win. Things became even more dangerous when Reed climbed to the top of the cage for a Tsunami splash, but it was CM Punk who saved Reigns, pulling him out of the way just in time and leaving Reed to crash through the table below.

As the match reached its climax, The OG Bloodline, led by Reigns, gained the upper hand. The Usos delivered superkicks to Sikoa, Zayn hit a Helluva Kick, and Punk nailed the Go to Sleep (GTS) on Fatu. Reigns sealed the victory with a powerful Spear on Sikoa, pinning him for the three-count.

After the match, Reigns extended an olive branch to Punk, offering a handshake that Punk accepted, marking a rare moment of respect between the two. As Punk shared a brief embrace with Heyman outside the ring, he subtly reminded The Wiseman of a favor that was owed to him, hinting at future interactions between the two.
