“The American Nightmare” will not be able to make history at the upcoming PLE

Last week in the Backlash fallout episode of SmackDown, Nick Aldis called out Cody Rhodes to announce his next opponent, which is none other than the United States Champion, Logan Paul. Cody and Logan claimed that they wanted to become the double champ.

Cody claimed that he would become the Grand Slam Champion after winning the US title. Logan claimed that he wanted to hold the WWE title and officially kick-start the Logan-Paul-Levesque Era. The SmackDown segment ended with no clue whether both the titles would be defended on the line or not.

Cody Rhodes’ social media activity potentially teased a Winner Takes All match, however, no official announcement was made. This week the championship match was confirmed with the contract signing, however only one title will be defended at WWE King and Queen of the Ring PLE.

Cody Rhodes vs Logan Paul becomes the Undisputed WWE Championship match

On the May 17, 2024, episode of SmackDown, the United States Champion, Logan Paul and the Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes arrived in the ring to sign the contract to make their match official at King and Queen of the Ring PLE.

Both the titles were showcased in the middle and both sat opposite to each other. The teasing began with Cody claiming that he would become the Grand Slam Champion by winning the United States Championship. Logan Paul stopped him and claimed that he was a better champion than him.

Logan said that he didn’t come to talk and teased signing the contract, however, he tore down the contract claiming that it was not the contract he agreed with Aldis. Logan said that he never said that he will be defending his United States Championship and only wanted the Undisputed WWE Championship to be defended on the line.

Logan Paul with his advocate introduced a new contract and asked Aldis to get it signed from Cody to make the match official. Aldis regretted his actions, saying that it was unfair. However, Cody asked Aldis to leave the ring saying that he would handle the business and come meet him backstage with the contract being signed.

Both the champs had a face-off and Cody finally agreed to sign the contract, making it the Undisputed WWE Championship match at King and Queen of the Ring PLE.
