Omos was recently under tenure with Pro Wrestling Noah, while under contract with WWE!

WWE boasts a deep roster of skilled performers, yet fans frequently express frustration over certain stars being left off television each week or not given the desired push from the promotion.

The issue of wasting or underutilizing talent has been a hot topic this year, with both WWE and AEW showcasing instances of performers being sidelined for various reasons.

One prime example of this is WWE star Omos, from Nigeria, who has been under contract since 2019 but has been absent from WWE television since April 2024, where he participated in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on Friday Night SmackDown.

The Nigerian star was sent to work with Pro Wrestling Noah while still under contract with WWE. He made his debut in the Japanese promotion in January this year.

However, by the end of January, he announced his departure from Noah to return to the Stamford-based promotion, vacating his GHC Tag Team Championship, which he had held alongside Jack Morris. While it gave many fans of the Nigerian star a reason to hope, a recent report has spoiled the speculations for fans.

WWE is planning an AAA run for the Nigerian star

According to a recent report from WrestleVotes, WWE creative has been actively discussing the idea of Omos getting a run in AAA. The promotion is looking to position the Nigerian star outside the WWE bubble to further establish him as a true special attraction.

WWE acquired Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide earlier this year, in April. During WrestleMania 41 on April 19, 2025, Michael Cole, during the PLE’s pre-show, announced that the promotion had reached an agreement to acquire AAA, as part of a joint venture with Mexican sports and entertainment company Fillip.

Doesn’t a WWE push make more sense?

Yes, WWE is undisputedly the biggest platform in sports entertainment currently, and if they wanted to make the Nigerian star feel like a ‘special attraction’, the company would do so. While, are there are many great in-ring and on-mic performers, there aren’t too many wrestlers standing 7’3 and weighing 400 pounds.

WWE Creative and Triple H need to address whether they see Omos as a special attraction, and if not, why not? Additionally, why are they choosing to send him to foreign countries to build his star power, rather than focusing on developing his brand domestically?

Despite backlash from fans, WWE has pushed many stars that they themselves believed in and they should push the Nigerian Star, especially when there is absence of such giants since the release of Braun Strowman.

When did Omos sign with WWE?

Omos signed with WWE in 2019 and made his television debut on Monday Night Raw.

What titles has Omos won in WWE?

As of now, Omos has only captured the World Tag Team Championship with AJ Styles once.

What was Omos’ last WWE appearance?

Omos was last spotted on WWE television during the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in April 2024 on SmackDown.
