Pat McAfee has not been seen on WWE TV in recent weeks

Pat McAfee has become one of the most popular voices in WWE, bringing unmatched energy and authenticity to the broadcast table.

However, his recent disappearance from WWE television hasn’t gone unnoticed. After his last appearance at Money in the Bank 2025, fans began to speculate on his status, especially with the upcoming Night of Champions event.

Now, McAfee has finally addressed his WWE absence and given an update on his current situation.

Pat McAfee says he’s “Catching Up on Life”

Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, the former NFL punter opened up about why he’s been missing from his usual post on Monday Night RAW. McAfee revealed that he’s on a break to recharge mentally and physically, describing the toll that the WWE schedule has taken on him in recent months.

“I will not be commentating. Continuing to just like kinda catch up on life as a whole,” McAfee said. “You know, post-Money in the Bank, pre-Night of Champions. Feels like a good time. I was getting pretty exhausted there. So, shoutout to everybody in WWE looking out for me, too. Very, very thankful.”

That brief yet telling quote came during the 3:07:16 to 3:07:34 mark of his show and was the clearest sign yet that his time away is more about self-care than anything permanent.

Pat McAfee like to be absent at WWE Night of Champions 2025

While WWE are yet to confirm McAfee’s official status for Night of Champions in Riyadh, his own words strongly suggest he won’t be in Saudi Arabia this weekend.

In his absence, Wade Barrett and Corey Graves have joined Michael Cole on RAW, providing solid commentary but lacking the distinctive flair McAfee brings to the booth.

There’s no word yet on when Pat McAfee will return to WWE programming, but the door is clearly open for a comeback once he’s ready. His gratitude toward WWE’s support signals a healthy relationship behind the scenes, which is promising for fans eager to hear him back on the mic.

For now, McAfee is hitting pause, not stop and fans will be waiting patiently for his explosive return.
