WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman has never been shy about speaking his mind, and when he praises someone, fans know it’s coming from a place of experience and insight. Ahead of WrestleMania 41, Heyman spoke with “SHAK Wrestling” and had high praise for Solo Sikoa, calling him the most improved WWE superstar over the past year and possibly ever.
Solo Sikoa has come a long way since his days as the silent enforcer for Roman Reigns and The Bloodline. Brought in to help Reigns fight off LA Knight, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton and more. Sikoa was expected to follow orders. But over the last year, he’s become a key player in his own right.
“I think Solo Sikoa was the single most improved performer in WWE from WrestleMania 40 through this week right now, and I am so proud of what he accomplished in that time,” said Heyman.
“I would dare say that if you look back a few years from now at the year that he had and carrying that side of SmackDown, that it wasn’t only the most improved performer of the past year, that he is perhaps, in a one-year span, the most improved performer over a one-year span ever.”
That’s massive praise coming from someone who’s managed the likes of Brock Lesnar, CM Punk and Roman Reigns.
Heyman continued, highlighting how Sikoa grew from being quiet and mysterious to someone who could hold his own on the microphone with anyone.
“He went from being a stoic mute to being someone who can carry his end of the microphone against anybody… including me, including Roman Reigns,” Heyman said. “Solo Sikoa held his own.”
Heyman also pointed out that Sikoa didn’t have a single bad match in the past year and delivered every time he stepped into the ring.
“He carried SmackDown from an antagonist position… even after I was gone.”
Now, with Jacob Fatu stepping up in WWE, Sikoa may be in the background for the moment, but with a year like that under his belt, his future looks incredibly bright.
