2024 Backlash will be the first WWE Live PPV in France
This year’s WWE Backlash is set to happen in France. While there are different superstars who are said to perform for their titles, there are non-title matches too.
Some of the superstars who were expected to be in the event are not actually present now and are omitted, the reason is their injury and also the recent title win that they got in the weekly shows. Here is a list of people who are omitted from Backlash 2024 and won’t be performing in the event.
Liv Morgan
Although not officially promoted by WWE, Liv Morgan’s recent attack on Rhea Ripley and her valiant performance in the battle royale, where she was the last to be eliminated by the ‘Man’, hints at a potential feud with Becky Lynch.
Despite her absence from Backlash promotion, Morgan’s actions suggest she’s poised for a showdown, possibly at the next Premium Live Event or Monday Night RAW, setting the stage for an intense rivalry.
Gunther
The former Intercontinental Champion’s return to RAW after WrestleMania 40 without a match at Backlash sets the stage for his involvement in the upcoming King of The Ring Tournament, scheduled for May 25th in Saudi Arabia.
Gunther’s goal is clear: to emerge victorious in the tournament and then set his sights on the reigning World Heavyweight Champion, Damian Priest. This declaration hints at potential future rivalries and championship aspirations for Gunther as he looks to make his mark on the RAW brand.

Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre’s absence from the upcoming PLE is attributed to an elbow injury, though he’s expected to be medically cleared soon. Despite working through the injury, no exact return date has been specified.
Upon his return, McIntyre is slated to face CM Punk, who is also recovering from a torn triceps sustained at the 2024 Royal Rumble. The ongoing verbal jousting between the two sets the stage for a highly anticipated matchup once both competitors are back in action.
Becky Lynch
The Man and the new Women’s World Champion’s absence from the Backlash advertisement has ignited speculation about her next challenger. While Liv Morgan seems to be the frontrunner, there’s also buzz surrounding Becky Lynch, especially with her contract nearing its end.
Lynch has made her intentions clear, targeting Rhea Ripley upon her return, promising to reignite their explosive feud that reached its climax at WrestleMania 40.
Logan Paul
The current United States Champion will not be participating in the upcoming Backlash PPV, despite speculation that Braun Strowman may challenge him next. Strowman’s recent confrontation with the champion on RAW has sparked interest in a potential matchup. Logan Paul, who won the title in November, recently defended it against Kevin Owens and Randy Orton at WrestleMania 40.
With his next challenger yet to be determined, anticipation grows for who will step up to challenge Paul for the United States Championship.
