A positive update has emerged on the status of Jade Cargill following her scary forehead injury on last week’s Friday Night SmackDown. Cargill suffered a gruesome cut to her forehead during the main event, sparking concern among fans and within WWE.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider Elite, the belief backstage is that Cargill only required stitches to close the wound. Importantly, she did not need plastic surgery despite the severity of the gash. Early signs suggest she could be cleared to compete again within a few weeks.

The incident occurred during the triple-threat match for the WWE Women’s Championship, where Tiffany Stratton defended her title against both Cargill and Nia Jax.

In a spot outside the ring, Cargill executed a Samoan drop on Jax onto the steel ring steps. The impact caused her own head to collide with the steps, leaving her with a deep and bloody cut above the eye. The sight shocked fans, with images later shared by Cargill on Instagram showing the wound before and after stitches.

Despite her efforts, Cargill was unsuccessful in capturing the championship, as Stratton managed to retain her title.

Since her arrival in WWE, Jade Cargill has been treated as a marquee talent. She debuted in the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble and soon formed an alliance with Bianca Belair, leading to a reign as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Her momentum carried into 2025 with a victory in the Queen of the Ring tournament, which earned her a championship opportunity at SummerSlam. Although she came up short against Tiffany Stratton, Cargill’s star power and athletic presence have made her one of SmackDown’s standout performers.
