Stephanie Vaquer has been suffering from an injury!

WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer is reportedly dealing with a legitimate injury, but the situation is far less severe than what is being portrayed on television.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Vaquer is hurt, though only slightly, and WWE is amplifying the severity to fuel her ongoing storyline with Raquel Rodriguez.

Meltzer confirmed that while the injury is real, it should not keep the champion out of action for long.

“She has a legitimate injury, but it’s a minor injury, it’s not as big an injury as they’re playing up,” Meltzer stated, noting that WWE’s presentation is intentionally more dramatic for narrative purposes.

Minor injury, Major storyline

Meltzer explained that WWE had planned a match between Stephanie Vaquer and Raquel Rodriguez within the next couple of weeks. However, the timing now depends on when Vaquer receives medical clearance.

“Yeah, they were supposed to have a match in a week or two. I don’t know if she’s going to be ready by then, so we’ll see,” he said.

He added that a slight delay is possible if the champion needs extra recovery time.

“I didn’t get the date, but I don’t know if it’s going to be quite as soon. But I heard she was going to be cleared pretty quick, so it’s a minor injury, but it’s a real injury.”

Despite the minor diagnosis, WWE has leaned heavily into the injury as the focal point of Vaquer’s rivalry with Rodriguez. In recent weeks, Rodriguez has targeted her leg relentlessly, intensifying the feud and setting the stage for a major showdown once Vaquer returns.

Stephanie Vaquer again attacked on WWE RAW

The storyline ramped up again on this week’s episode of RAW from Germany. As Vaquer made her entrance, she was blindsided by Raquel Rodriguez for the second straight week.

This time, Rodriguez used the Women’s World Championship belt itself as a weapon, smashing it into Vaquer’s already injured leg before leaving her grounded on the ramp.

Rodriguez has been chasing a singles title opportunity since December 29, when she was defeated by Vaquer in a Triple Threat match also involving Nikki Bella. Her repeated assaults make it clear she intends to force another championship match, whether Vaquer is fully healthy or not.

With Vaquer expected to receive medical clearance soon and the storyline heating up rapidly, WWE appears poised to deliver an intense championship clash once the champion is ready to step back into the ring.

Is Stephanie Vaquer’s injury real or just storyline?

The injury is legitimate, but it is minor. WWE is exaggerating its severity for storyline purposes.

When is Stephanie Vaquer expected to return to the ring?

According to Meltzer, she is expected to be cleared “pretty quick,” though the originally planned match may be delayed slightly.
