WWE heads to Italy with major character shifts potentially shaping the road to SummerSlam.

For the first time ever, WWE will host a premium live event in Italy, and Clash in Italy already feels like one of the most important shows of the year. With massive matches such as Roman Reigns vs Jacob Fatu, Cody Rhodes vs Gunther, and Rhea Ripley vs Jade Cargill announced, the event carries major championship implications.

However, beyond the title matches and star power, the promotion could use the show to reshape several top characters heading into SummerSlam season completely. Heel and face turns often define the company’s biggest events, and Clash in Italy feels perfectly positioned for multiple dramatic changes.

From The Bloodline potentially collapsing again to Becky Lynch finally rediscovering herself, several stars could leave Clash in Italy looking very different from how they entered.

5. The Bloodline (Heel)

The Bloodline remains the most unpredictable act in WWE heading into Clash in Italy. Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu are set to collide in Tribal Combat, and it feels almost impossible for the faction to remain united after the dust settles.

If Fatu defeats Reigns and captures the World Heavyweight Championship, “The Samoan Werewolf” could immediately embrace a more dangerous heel role. His violent tendencies already separate him from previous Bloodline leaders, and championship power may only push him further into chaos.

At the same time, Roman Reigns turning heel again also feels realistic. “The Tribal Chief” has always been driven by ego and control, and the promotion could easily revisit that darker side of his character.

4. Charlotte Flair (Heel)

‘The Queen’ Charlotte Flair turning heel would surprise nobody, but that does not make it any less likely. “The Queen” naturally gravitates toward arrogance and superiority, especially when championship opportunities are involved.

If Flair believes Alexa Bliss or Rhea Ripley is standing in her way, she could easily strike first and re-establish herself as one of WWE’s top villains.

The promotion may also want to revisit a more aggressive version of Flair as the women’s division becomes increasingly crowded near the top.

3. Alexa Bliss (Heel)

Alexa Bliss has quietly become one of the most suspicious figures in the Women’s division. While she has worked alongside Charlotte Flair recently, their partnership feels more like an alliance of convenience than one built on genuine trust.

Bliss has historically thrived as a manipulative heel, and Clash in Italy could become the perfect stage for her to betray Flair or even target Rhea Ripley after the title match. A turn would instantly place Bliss back into the championship spotlight heading into SummerSlam season.

2. Becky Lynch (Face)

Becky Lynch may be at her best as “The Man,” but fans have always connected most strongly with her as a babyface. Her recent heel run has worked well, particularly in elevating younger talent like Sol Ruca.

However, a humiliating loss at Clash in Italy could finally force Lynch to reflect on her recent behavior. The promotion has often portrayed Becky spiraling after setbacks, but this time, the company may choose redemption instead of bitterness.

A face turn could refresh Lynch’s character while creating several fresh rivalries moving into the second half of 2026.

1. Brock Lesnar (Face)

Brock Lesnar feels like a strong candidate for a babyface turn as his career approaches its final stretch. Despite returning to feud with Oba Femi, fans still seem ready to support Lesnar during a farewell-style run.

If Paul Heyman eventually betrays him again, the promotion could fully position “The Beast Incarnate” as a sympathetic veteran fighting through one last major challenge. That path could eventually lead to a blockbuster showdown against Gunther at SummerSlam.

Which WWE superstar is most likely to turn heel at Clash in Italy?

The Bloodline appears most likely to shift heel depending on the outcome of Roman Reigns vs Jacob Fatu in Tribal Combat.

When and where will Clash in Italy take place?

Inalpi Arena in Turin, Piedmont Region, Italy, will host the upcoming edition of the Clash in Italy PLE on May 31.

Where can fans tune in to catch the action live?

Fans in the United States can watch on ESPN’s direct-to-consumer streaming service, while international fans can tune into Netflix in most markets. SuperSport will carry the event in Sub-Saharan Africa, and Abema will air it in Japan.
