Top three potential surprises for WWE SmackDown tonight (May 30, 2025)

Tonight’s episode of SmackDown will serve as the fallout show from SNME!

The May 24 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event concluded in Tampa, Florida, last week. The promotion delivered the fallout show of WWE Raw and is now set to deliver the fallout show of Friday Night SmackDown tonight.

Tonight’s show of the Blue brand will air from the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tennessee. WWE will continue the build towards the Money in the Bank 2025 with two qualifying matches announced for the show. Stars will battle to secure the fifth spot in both the men’s and women’s ladder matches.

The show will also feature the return of three major stars as Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena, Cody Rhodes, and Bianca Belair are all set for an appearance. Ahead of tonight’s show in Knoxville, let us take a look at three potential surprises that might be in store for WWE fans.

3. Nia Jax advances

Nia Jax, Naomi, and Jade Cargill are set to battle in the women’s MITB Qualifying match tonight, the winner will secure the fifth spot in the women’s ladder match. Alexa Bliss, Roxanne Perez, Rhea Ripley, and Giulia have qualified for the match so far, and Nia Jax is likely going to join them tonight as the animosity between Naomi and Cargill will likely help her pick up the win.

The return of Bianca Belair likely means the promotion will resume the storyline between the three, which began following the return of Jade Cargill.

2. Wyatt Sicks target The Miz

Waytt Sicks (Uncle Howdy (Bo Dallas), Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis, Nikki Cross & Joe Gacy) made their return during the final moments of the show last week. This is their first appearance since December, when they were transferred to the Blue brand from Raw.

It was later revealed that The Miz, who was involved in a feud with the Wyatt Sicks alongside the Final Testament, was behind the transfer. The Miz is himself now on the SmackDown brand and might find himself on the radar of the faction.

1. John Cena retaliates

John Cena and Cody Rhodes will make an appearance on tonight’s show. Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena is set to team up with Logan Paul to battle the team of Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso.

Rhodes made his return in the final moments of SNME, aiding Jey and taking down Cena with the cross Rhodes. The Champion might have a devastating surprise for Cody tonight as he will likely want to retaliate for the humiliation at SNME.
