Predicting Roman Reigns' next five opponents in WWE

Roman Reigns has returned after his WrestleMania 40 loss
Roman Reigns is all set to battle Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in a surprise alliance with his arch-nemesis of long-time, Cody Rhodes, at Bad Blood 2024. However, no matter who stays on the winning side of this bout, the Bloodline rivalry isn’t going to end anytime soon.
Fans can only hope that Cody Rhodes, who is not a member of the Anoa’i family, stops making a fool out of the WWE Undisputed Championship by being involved in what can be only considered a family affair, and that he is not at all part of that family.
Roman Reigns, however, is set to remain busy fixing this family mess and finally reclaim his place at the head of the table. Keeping that in consideration and also taking into account WWE’s current landscape, we will try to predict Roman Reigns’ next five opponents.
5. Solo Sikoa
First up, we have Solo Sikoa. At Survivor Series, we can get the Bloodline Civil War Games match with the OG Bloodline on one side and the Rogue Bloodline on the other. But we are particularly talking about the guy Roman Reigns would face in a one-on-one wrestling match next.
From a storyline POV, it seems that it could be Solo Sikoa at Crown Jewel. No matter who comes on the winning side at Survivor Series, he might be challenged to a tribal combat match at Crown Jewel by the loser.
We think Solo Sikoa and the rogue Bloodline will be on the losing side at Survivor Series, but on the very next episode of SmackDown, he will be challenging Roman Reigns for a match to finally determine who the Tribal Chief really should be at Crown Jewel.
Roman will obviously agree to that match, and there we will get Roman Reigns’ first singles match since WrestleMania 40.
4. Cody Rhodes
Next, we have Cody Rhodes. Once Roman Reigns defeats Solo Sikoa at Crown Jewel, which we think is what’s going to happen because we don’t see a timeline where Solo Sikoa has a singles win over a returning Roman Reigns in 2024, we think Roman Reigns will challenge Cody Rhodes in a rematch for the WWE Undisputed Championship.
Knowing Cody Rhodes and the fighting champion that he is, he will obviously comply. We will get the rematch for the Undisputed Championship in Royal Rumble most probably. However, considering these are the two top goliaths in WWE, we won’t be getting any definitive results in this match.
We will either have Jacob Fatu making an interference, taking out both men but specifically targeting Roman Reigns, or The Rock returning and interfering in the match, taking out Cody Rhodes. This match will be instrumental in determining who Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes will face at WrestleMania, which in our opinion will be Jacob Fatu and The Rock respectively.
3. Jacob Fatu
Third on the list is Jacob Fatu. We think Jacob Fatu is going to be Roman Reigns’ opponent at WrestleMania 41. It seems that WWE is looking to do the Cody Rhodes vs The Rock angle on this year’s WrestleMania, which only means that they are saving Roman Reigns vs The Rock for next year’s Mania.
This means the slot to wrestle Roman Reigns at Mania remains empty, and they can use this opportunity to make a star out of Jacob Fatu. He need not beat Reigns; he just needs to take him to the limit, which he surely will, considering how his presentation so far has been.
We think the two will definitely have a banger of a match and will tear the house down at WrestleMania 41, provided this is the match happening at the grandest stage.
2. John Cena
Fourth on the list is John Cena. John Cena will also be back in the WWE for his last run whilst Roman Reigns will be taking care of his Bloodline business. We all know Roman Reigns won’t be working a full-time schedule with the WWE, and if we aren’t getting Roman Reigns vs The Rock at this year’s Mania, we won’t be getting it anytime before next year’s Mania. WWE will never have a match this big at SummerSlam or Crown Jewel. They will save it for the big one.
John Cena won’t be wrestling in WrestleMania 42, as he already confirmed. This opens the door for one last match between Roman Reigns and John Cena before he ends his career. The two faces that defined two generations, the two guys who are in almost everyone’s Mount Rushmore of wrestling, facing off one last time.
We think we need this. We will go one step ahead and say Roman Reigns could also be the one that retires John Cena instead of Randy Orton. It would make perfect sense, and we don’t think many will complain if the story is good.
1. The Rock
The dream match: the match between Roman Reigns and The Rock. And no, we are not saying Roman Reigns will only wrestle two matches in 2025. He might have on-and-off rivalries with other competitors, but this one is on the list because this is the big one. Besides, there is always a chance that WWE is just playing us, and Roman Reigns vs The Rock is originally planned as the main event of WrestleMania 41 itself.
Whatever be it, and whenever it happens, we just hope Dwayne Johnson is fit and fine for the match. It’s crazy, the amount of longevity the man has had. He is the only one from the Attitude Era who, even after all these years, can really go in the ring. He had an amazing match last year, proving all his critics wrong. We hope this and the following year won’t be any different.
Roman Reigns on the other hand has had one of the craziest rises in the history of the company. The amount that he improved as an entertainer is unbelievable to say the least. The man went from “slythering sucatash” to one of the best promos in the business. He has always been a good performer, but the aura he commands right now is unheard of.
There couldn’t have been a bigger match in the WWE. The fact that our generation is finally getting our dream match, well, technically we did get Rock vs Cena, and we got it twice, but even then, this match is nothing short of that.
Considering Roman’s body of work in the last 4 years and The Rock’s legacy, and the fact that they are related by blood, and how they have effectively integrated it in the Bloodline story, only suggests that in every single way possible, this is even greater than “Once In A Lifetime”.
