The upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event could have some interesting matches.
The last edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event was an emotional night as John Cena wrestled his final match and lost to Gunther in a heartbreaking moment.
The vintage show will mark its return at the start of 2026 and will take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on January 24. Witnessing the recent events prevalent in the WWE landscape, here are five matches that can take place at the show.
5. The Usos vs The New Day
The Usos and The New Day are one of the most historic tag team rivalries in WWE history. With Jimmy and Jey Uso winning their ninth WWE World Tag Team Championships, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods could likely emerge as their first challengers, with their match taking place at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in January.

4. Rhea Ripley & Iyo Sky vs Liv Morgan & Roxanne Perez
Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky dethroned The Kabuki Warriors on the January 5 edition of RAW to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
On the other hand, Liv Morgan had mentioned that since Raquel Rodriguez was going after the World title, she and Roxanne Perez could challenge for the tag titles, with the match having the possibility of taking place at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
3. 8-man tag team match
Another interesting match that can happen on January’s episode of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event is an eight-man tag team match.
World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk could join forces with his recent allies, Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee, and Penta, to go up against the same faction that they fend off on RAW in Punk’s match against Bron Breakker, The Vision, which could be an excellent addition to the match card.
2. Becky Lynch vs Maxxine Dupri
Becky Lynch used some underhanded tactics to regain the Women’s Intercontinental Championship from Maxxine Dupri on the January 5 episode of RAW. With both women holding a win in title matches, a grudge match could take place at the first Saturday Night’s Main Event of 2026 to determine the ultimate victor.
1. Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton
Randy Orton made his return to SmackDown’s first episode of 2026. After taking down The Miz, he caught up with his friend and former pupil, Cody Rhodes. Orton made it clear to him that he was next in line to challenge for the Undisputed WWE title, with the match being a marquee addition to the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event’s card.
