Khel Now's predictions for WWE Backlash 2025

WWE Backlash will take place this weekend in St. Louis, Missouri.

The WWE Universe is all set to witness the first Premium Live Event after the culmination of the WrestleMania season. That is WWE Backlash, which will take place on Saturday, May 10, at the Enterprise Arena in St. Louis, Missouri, and is expected to be a stellar show.

The match card will feature some of the top-tier WWE superstars competing in highly compelling matches. Moreover, the fans have been speculating on stars who can emerge victorious in their respective bouts. So here are Khelnow’s predictions for WWE Backlash:

Jacob Fatu vs LA Knight vs Drew McIntyre vs Damian Priest

Jacob Fatu garnered a huge ovation upon winning the WWE United States Championship at WrestleMania 41. However, he was immediately targeted by the former champion, LA Knight, Damian Priest, and Drew McIntyre, with no decisive No.1 contender coming out. This led to GM Nick Aldis pitting all four competitors in the same match for the US title.

Fatu has become a huge favorite among the audience in recent months. Despite the odds stacked against him, it is unlikely that WWE would slow him down by taking the title off. So, a victory for Jacob Fatu can happen at WWE Backlash.

Predicted Winner: Jacob Fatu

Penta vs Dominik Mysterio

Much like Jacob Fatu, Dominik Mysterio also had his moment of glory when he won the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 41. However, he has been having multiple run-ins with Penta, who was also part of the Mania match when Dirty Dom won the title.

While Penta is a huge favorite among the audience, it can be expected that Dominik’s Judgment Day cohorts would once again run interference and save his title reign. Penta can become a future champion, but it just might not happen at WWE Backlash.

Predicted Winner: Dominik Mysterio

Becky Lynch vs Lyra Valkyria

Becky Lynch shocked the world by turning on her friend, Lyra Valkyria, after they dropped the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships back to Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez one night after winning from them. The new and sinister Lynch manipulated Valkyria into putting her WWE Women’s Intercontinental title against her at WWE Backlash.

This might just prove to be costly, as Lynch could possibly dethrone Valkyria for the title to bring their match score to 1-1 after Lyra defeated her in 2023. Moreover, this might also set up the rubber match between the duo to put an end to their tensions.

Predicted Winner: Becky Lynch

Pat McAfee vs Gunther

Pat McAfee stood up to Gunther after The Ring General put his hands on Michael Cole following some comments he made. McAfee also agreed to battle Gunther in a one-on-one match at WWE Backlash. However, looking at Gunther’s recent frustrations and huge loss at WrestleMania 41, it can be expected that he would crush McAfee to pieces and pick up a dominant win.

Predicted Winner: Gunther

John Cena vs Randy Orton

The last time showdown between John Cena and Randy Orton will headline WWE Backlash for the Undisputed WWE Championship. The iconic rivals reignited their rivalry after Orton laid out Cena with an RKO as he celebrated his 17th World title win on the RAW after WrestleMania 41.

While Orton has a huge home-field advantage, Cena is not expected to drop his World title so soon. He could possibly cheat his way to victory to avoid giving Orton a huge loss in front of his hometown.
