Top five predictions for WWE RAW & SmackDown after Royal Rumble 2025 PLE

The Royal Rumble PLE emanated from the Lucas Oil Stadium
The Stamford-based promotion delivered as promised on the 2025 edition of Royal Rumble PLE which emanated from the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Multiple WWE stars participated in the traditional men’s and women’s Rumble match.
Jey Uso emerged victorious in the men’s Rumble match while Charlotte Flair made history in her return and became the only woman to win two Rumble matches in the WWE. The show also had multiple interesting developments, clashes, and brawls which will affect the storyline of the Raw and SmackDown brand.
Following the first PLE of 2025, let us take a look at the top five predictions for Raw and SmackDown after the Royal Rumble PLE.
5. Jey Uso picks Gunther
‘Main Event’ Jey Uso defied all odds and won the 2025 men’s Rumble match, during the post-match presser Jey stated that while he hasn’t made up his mind yet, he will likely pick Gunther for Mania.
“I’m looking at both of them, you know, we’re gonna Yeet here! I don’t know man but I would like one more crack at Gunther, and I really feel like I can beat Gunther” Jey stated.
A week before winning the Rumble match, Gunther defeated Jey at the January 25 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event where the World Heavyweight title was on the line. Jey has stated that he wants one more ‘crack at Gunther’ as he feels he can beat him and after his win, he is likely going to pick Gunther.
4. Tiffany Startton feuds with Charlotte Flair
Charlotte Flair made her return after over a year-long hiatus in the women’s Rumble match and went on to win the match. She is now set to headline WrestleMania against the champion of her choosing. Flair also became the first woman to win two Royal Rumbles.
Following Startton’s title win against Nia Jax, multiple fans and pundits immediately started linking her with Flair for a future clash. This was also evident after Flair was reportedly added to the SmackDown roster. While Falir stated that she has not made up her mind, she is likely going to choose Stratton for WrestleMania.
3. NXT stars promoted to the main roster
Following the tradition of NXT talents taking part in the Rumble matches, multiple big names from NXT took part in the women’s Royal Rumble match including NXT Women’s Champion Giulia, Jaida Parker, Lash Legend and Jaida Parker.
However, among them, former NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez shined the brightest as she not only showcased her talent in front of the fandom but also shattered Bayley’s record to create the record for most time spent in a single women’s Royal Rumble (1:07:47). Perez will likely get a main roster promotion following the first PLE of 2025.
2. Kevin Owens confronts Sami Zayn
Ahead of his title clash in the ladder match against Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens in a segment with Sami Zayn floated the idea of the two friends taking care of each other. Owens hinted at Zayn helping him win the title while KO will make sure that Sami wins the men’s Rumble match.
While Zayn did make an appearance during the ladder match he did not interfere or help Owens in any way. Sami was just there to check on Owens who was left bloodied as a result of the clash. Zayn deciding to not interfere in the match might irk KO who will likely confront his friend after recovering from his wounds.
1. Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins & CM Punk collide
‘The OTC’ Roman Reigns was brutally assaulted by Seth Rollins after being eliminated in the men’s Rumble match. Reigns and Rollins were eliminated by CM Punk during their brawl during the match. Following the elimination, Rollins launched an assault on Reigns landing a brutal stomp on the OTC right on the concrete floor.
Rollins then started brawling with CM Punk who was standing beside Reigns, officials diffused the situation and just when they got things under control Rollins landed another stomp on Reigns this time on the steel steps.
This might be the beginning of a feud between the three stars as they have a long history with each other and the hatred between them is pretty evident. The three stars might reignite their feud which might culminate in a triple-threat clash.
