Khel Now’s Predictions for WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night 1

SummerSlam 2026 Night 1 is loaded with championship clashes, personal rivalries and career-defining battles.
WWE has transformed SummerSlam into a two-night extravaganza, and the 2026 edition promises to be one of the biggest premium live events of the year.
With world championships on the line, bitter rivalries reaching their boiling point and several marquee attractions featuring some of the company’s biggest stars, Night 1 has all the ingredients of an unforgettable show.
CM Punk defends the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes in the main event, while Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi conclude their trilogy inside Hell in a Cell.
Elsewhere, Liv Morgan looks to fend off Iyo Sky, Gunther welcomes SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis back to the ring, and The Bloodline reunites for another high-profile six-man tag team contest.
Undisputed WWE Championship: CM Punk (c) vs Cody Rhodes
Few rivalries on the card carry as much emotional weight as CM Punk versus Cody Rhodes. Their friendship stretches across multiple wrestling promotions, but championship gold leaves little room for sentiment.
Rhodes enjoyed a memorable run at the top, but WWE appears committed to a fresh direction with Punk as the face of SmackDown. After capturing the title, Punk has an opportunity to establish a lengthy championship reign against a stacked roster of challengers.
Rhodes remains one of WWE’s biggest stars, but another title change this soon would interrupt Punk’s momentum before it truly begins.
Prediction: CM Punk retains the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Hell in a Cell: Oba Femi vs Brock Lesnar
This trilogy has been evenly split, with Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar trading victories at WrestleMania 42 and Clash in Italy, respectively.
The deciding chapter inside Hell in a Cell feels designed to cement Femi as WWE’s next dominant attraction. At under 30 years old, he has the tools to become a future world champion, while Lesnar has already hinted that the latter stages of his legendary career may be approaching.
A victory over “The Beast Incarnate” inside one of WWE’s most unforgiving structures would instantly elevate Femi into the company’s elite tier.
Prediction: Oba Femi wins.
Women’s World Championship: Liv Morgan (c) vs Iyo Sky
Liv Morgan continues to deal with the lingering effects of Danhausen’s infamous “curse” on Judgment Day, with both Morgan and Dominik Mysterio suffering setbacks during the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments.
Iyo Sky earned momentum by defeating Morgan in the tournament final, making her a legitimate threat heading into SummerSlam. Despite that, WWE has invested heavily in Morgan’s championship reign, and it feels premature to end it now.
Expect Sky to push the champion to her limit before Morgan escapes with another successful defence.
Prediction: Liv Morgan retains the Women’s World Championship.
Gunther vs Nick Aldis
Nick Aldis finally returns to in-ring competition after serving as SmackDown General Manager, ending a three-year absence from active wrestling.
The former NWA and TNA World Heavyweight Champion has all the credentials to make an immediate impact, but his first WWE singles match presents arguably the toughest possible challenge.
Gunther has built his reputation by dismantling respected veterans and championship-calibre opponents. Aldis should enjoy a competitive showcase, but defeating “The Ring General” in his return would feel unlikely.
Prediction: Gunther wins.
Nikki Bella, Brie Bella & Paige vs Fatal Influence
This six-woman tag team clash represents a battle between WWE’s established legends and its rising generation.
Fatal Influence have steadily become one of SmackDown’s most important factions, with Jacy Jayne leading the group while Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid recently captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship from Brie Bella and Paige. A victory over Hall of Fame-calibre names would further establish Fatal Influence as the division’s future.
Prediction: Fatal Influence win.
The Bloodline (Jacob Fatu, Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso) vs LA Knight, Royce Keys & Solo Sikoa
The Bloodline reunite once again, with Jacob Fatu joining The Usos against the unlikely alliance of LA Knight, Royce Keys and Solo Sikoa.
While the opposing trio would arguably benefit more from a marquee victory, WWE has consistently positioned The Bloodline as one of its premier attractions. Their chemistry and experience together should ultimately prove decisive. Another win also keeps the faction’s momentum intact heading into the remainder of SummerSlam weekend.
Prediction: The Bloodline win.
Night 1 of SummerSlam 2026 offers an excellent balance of championship matches, grudge contests and showcase bouts. If these predictions come true, WWE will enter Night 2 with both world title pictures intact while simultaneously creating fresh stars through victories for Oba Femi and Fatal Influence.
Whether every prediction proves accurate remains to be seen, but Saturday’s card has all the ingredients to deliver one of the strongest SummerSlam line-ups in recent memory.
