The Viper broke the tie with The Undertaker in 2025!

‘The Viper’ Randy Orton has been the staple of WWE since the early 200s. From major World title wins to jaw-dropping RKOs, he has established himself as one of the greatest to ever step foot in the squared circle and the best part: he is still competing and has no plans to retire anytime soon.

Orton’s longevity and accolades need no introduction, even in the case of ‘the biggest party of the summer’, SummerSlam. The Viper was tied with The Undertaker at a record 16 SummerSlam matches.

However, with his appearance at the 2025 Premium Live Event, Orton surpassed The Undertaker and made history with a record-breaking 17 SummerSlam matches.

Orton in his 17th appearance, teamed up with country star and fellow Tennesse native, Jelly Roll, to take on the team of Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul in a tag team match.

The 2025 edition of the show was scheduled for August 2 and 3, 2025, and emanated live from the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This was the first SummerSlam PLE to span two days, a format which was only used for WrestleMania.

Let us take a look at the SummerSlam record of ‘The Viper’ Randy Orton, a superstar with the most appearances at the PLE.
