‘The Viper’ is currently out of action due to injury
Randy Orton’s fans might not like his WrestleMania 41 plans. Many speculated that Orton would challenge his former protege and our current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
But, recent reports suggest otherwise. It appears the WWE has other blockbuster plans in mind for both Rhodes and Orton, leaving fans to wonder about the future of The Viper.
Orton made his long-awaited comeback to WWE last year, only to face setbacks. His last television appearance came during the November 8 edition of SmackDown, where he suffered a devastating piledriver at the hands of Kevin Owens following WWE Crown Jewel 2024.
The move left Orton with cervical cord neurapraxia, sidelining him indefinitely. This injury was a significant blow, as rumors hinted at a potential clash with Rhodes, reigniting their storied rivalry from their days in Legacy.
According to WrestleVotes and Xero News, Cody Rhodes is expected to hold onto his championship until 2025. Reports also claim that The Rock is penciled in to dethrone The American Nightmare at WrestleMania 41. If these rumors hold true, it seems unlikely that Orton will be next in line to challenge for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
When asked about Orton potentially dethroning Rhodes, Xero News dismissed the idea, stating, “No plans, never was. It’s been planned as Rock since RAW after ‘Mania 40.”
With Rhodes tied up in a dream match against The Rock, Orton’s path to WrestleMania 41 remains uncertain. One possibility is revisiting his feud with Kevin Owens, as their Crown Jewel match never came to fruition. Another intriguing rumor suggests that Orton might face John Cena in what could be the final chapter of their legendary rivalry.
John Cena will soon start his farewell tour where he could choose Orton as his opponent for one last showdown. Despite their storied history, the two icons have never faced each other at WrestleMania. A match between Orton and Cena at WrestleMania 41 would undoubtedly be a fitting send-off for one of WWE’s most iconic rivalries.
WrestleMania 41 is shaping up to be a monumental event, and while Orton’s path remains unclear, his ability to captivate audiences is undeniable. Do let us know in the comments what you think Randy Orton can do once he returns and starts his WrestleMania 41 road.
