The second-generation professional wrestler is part of the Judgment Day!

After making her return last year at Bad Blood 2024, Raquel Rodriguez aligned with Liv Morgan and joined the Judgment Day faction. The two stars’ reunion has led to immense success for Rodriguez as the two stars defeated Bianca Belair and Naomi in February 2025 to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship for a record-setting third time.

Despite losing the titles at WrestleMania 41 (Sunday) at the hands of Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria, Morgan and Rodriguez bounced back to win the tag titles, breaking their own record on Raw after WrestleMania.

With the win, Rodriguez, along with Morgan, is in their record-setting fourth reign as a team and record-setting fifth reign individually. However, when we glance at Rodriguez’s tag team history, especially in the context of the recent WWE releases, it’s heartbreaking.

One of the very first tag teams that Rodriguez became a part of following her regular appearance was with Dakota Kai in NXT. Rodriguez became Kai’s bodyguard in 2020, helping her win her matches. The two stars also managed to win the inaugural NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship

Following her main roster debut, Rodriguez formed an alliance with Aliyah, and together they defeated Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky to win the vacant WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on the August 29, 2022, edition of Raw.

Raquel Rodriguez was also in a short-lived tag team with Shotzi

On May 29, 2023, an episode of Monday Night Raw, Rodriguez formed a new tag team with Shotzi after Morgan was forced out of action due to injury. However, the short-lived tag team failed to win any gold in the promotion and was disbanded as Liv Morgan made her return.

If you’re an avid fan, you have probably sensed the pattern as all of Rodriguez’s former tag team partners have been released from the WWE. While Dakota Kai and Shotzi have been released from the WWE during the recent layoff on May 2, Aliyah was released from her WWE contract in 2023.

The recent layoffs that shook the entire WWE universe also affected NXT’s Cora Jade, who was released from her contract and also changed her profile name to Elayna Black, which is the name she used before she signed with WWE.

While Rodriguez and Jade never officially teamed up, they had a brief link-up at the 2021 NXT WarGames where the two were part of a single team, and yes, it is a long stretch considering we’re talking about Raquel past tag teams but among the stars released Rodriguez had a brief history with Jade too.

It is likely just a coincidence that all of Rodriguez’s tag partner are not a part of WWE anymore, it seems highly unlikely that it’s a pattern specially considering her current tag partner, Liv Morgan who is one of the top stars in the promotion and together they are ruling the Women’s Tag division.

Furthermore, being released from WWE is not the end of a wrestler’s career, as proven by many stars who worked hard to make a name for themselves elsewhere, with some even returning to the promotion to become bigger stars than ever before.
