Giulia lost her title to Chelsea Green last week on WWE SmackDown
Giulia’s 133-day reign as WWE Women’s United States Champion came to a shocking end on the November 7 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
The Beautiful Madness fell to Chelsea Green in Greenville, South Carolina, after Green used the ropes for leverage in a crafty roll-up victory.
The win made the Canadian star a double champion, as she also holds the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Titles alongside Ethan Page.
Giulia’s defeat surprised many fans, considering she had been booked as a dominant champion since winning the belt from Zelina Vega back in June. However, there may be a bigger reason behind the title switch, one that could signal major plans ahead for the Japanese sensation.
Giulia’s title loss could be linked to a Main Event push
According to reports from wrestling insider Cory Hays of BodySlam.net, WWE officials had been planning for Giulia to transition into the main event scene in the coming months.
Hays noted that “the plan weeks ago was for her to enter the main event scene,” and suggested that her loss to Green could simply be the first step toward that elevation.
Giulia, who made her name in STARDOM before joining WWE earlier this year, has been praised backstage for her charisma and physical style.
Dropping the mid-card championship might free her up for higher-profile rivalries heading into 2026. Still, insiders suggest that any push could be delayed until after Survivor Series: WarGames, as current plans for the women’s WarGames match reportedly do not include Giulia.
Giulia reacts to title loss
During the match, Giulia appeared to have victory in hand after hitting her signature Arrivederci knee strike. However, chaos ensued when Kiana James and Alba Fyre got involved at ringside.
After Fyre took out James, Giulia accidentally kicked Fyre in the head, giving Green the perfect opening to steal the win.
Following the loss, Giulia broke her silence on X (formerly Twitter), posting a fiery message aimed at both herself and Chelsea Green.
“I’m angry at myself, Chelsea… at EVERYTHING. That’s real funny, dumba*s. Just watch. I’m going to tear it all apart,” she wrote, hinting that this rivalry is far from over.
Despite losing her title, Giulia made history by surpassing Zelina Vega’s previous record of 132 days to become the longest-reigning WWE Women’s United States Champion to date.
Why did Giulia lose her WWE Women’s United States Championship?
Reports suggest that Giulia’s title loss was strategic, allowing her to move into the main event picture as part of WWE’s long-term plans.
Who defeated Giulia for the championship?
Chelsea Green defeated Giulia on the November 7 episode of SmackDown by using the ropes for extra leverage during a roll-up pin.
