Rhea Ripley has suffered a fractured right orbital socket

WWE star Rhea Ripley has suffered a serious injury following an attack from Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez on this week’s episode of WWE NXT. As per the WWE, she is out of action for an undisclosed amount of time.

Ripley was attacked and left bleeding in the parking lot by Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and her enforcer Raquel Rodriguez on last night’s episode of NXT. Ripley has suffered a fractured right orbital socket due to the attack.

The fallout between Ripley and Dominik Mysterio has been one of the most talked about storylines among fans in recent times. Mysterio ended the on-screen relationship at SummerSlam 2024.

Dirty Dom ended the nearly two-year-long relationship as he betrayed Ripley in her fight against Liv Morgan. The fight was for the Women’s World Championship. Mysterio betrayed Mami to help Morgan in the match, this was Mami’s first loss since May 2022.

Ripley and Morgan already had an intense rivalry and the addition of Dirty Dom’s angle made this feud more personal. The two stars attack each other multiple times following Ripley’s return after a three-month hiatus on the 8 July episode of Raw.

Following the attack WWE has provided an update on Ripley‘s injury by posting a scan of Ripley’s skull on X (Twitter). The promotion has also stated that Mami will be out of action for an undisclosed amount of time.

“Following last night’s brutal attack at the hands of Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez in the NXT parking lot, Rhea Ripley has suffered a fractured right orbital socket and will be out of action for an undisclosed amount of time.” WWE tweeted.

However, there are indications that the injury might be a part of ‘Kayfabe’ to build up the storyline between Ripley and Morgan. Ripley also has recently tied the knot with AEW star Buddy Matthews and this might also be a chance for her to spend some time with her family.

Recent reports also suggest that there was a real injury behind the angle. However, there is no confirmation of what the injury is or the scale of it.

One thing is for certain Ripley is taking a break from in-ring action. The WWE might also plan her return at the 2025 Royal Rumble which would be held in February 2025, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
